The race is off! It looks dark. It's 45 degrees in Houston right now. Sunrise isn't for another 20 minutes.
Is it normal that the live stream from the truck has no sound?
My stream is freezing up but looks like Kim Conley and Janet Bawcom have already separated from the women's field less than a mile in.
How is it 2015, and we still do not have technology for reliable streaming? This sh* happens nearly every time there's a live stream outside of flotrack
The stream from abc13 works, but of course you just get a split screen.
Anyway, Diego Estrada is looking good at the moment, trying to go with the big guns. Will Meb take it in the end??
14:41 at 5k for the men. Estrada leads by about 15 meters, big pack behind him. Shadrack Biwott is already off the back.
I haven't heard a single mile split so far (though my stream did freeze up a couple times).
Link for abc stream? The USATF one hasn't worked for me in the last 15 minutes.
Seriously. It's not like USATF is streaming a race for the first time. I've been frozen up for at least a mile, it's ridiculous. How can they screw this up so badly?
Thank you for the abc13.com mention. Their stream is actually working.
Estrada is really starting to push it.... looks like Jared Ward (?) is trying to bridge the gap, but behind Ward there's a big 30-40m gap to the field.
Meb has taken the lead of the chase pack and is now trying to close the gap to Ward. I think he knows about how dangerous breakaways can be...
Wow, looks like Estrada is going faster in the moment.
Estrada's lead is huge. But it's hard to tell from the camera angle how big the lead is...I wish they would tell us. He's in mile 6 right now.
A reminder: this is Estrada's first-ever half marathon.
Thanks for link, they're showing actual splits and things on abc.
Intense breakaway by Estrada -- real bold. Looks like they're catching him a bit now, I'd guess the lead is only 10 seconds (hard to tell on video).
Estrada.....holy crap.....
I'm now at the point where I'm not sure whether or not he's just dominating the field or en route to a complete blow-up.
27:55 at 6 miles for Estrada. His lead appears to be about 30 seconds.
Juliet Bottorff of the BAA leading the women right now. This is also her first half marathon.
maybe 15-20 seconds. Estrada ?? at 10k. Llano and someone else in 29:10ish.
A bit puffing of the cheeks and he is constantly checking splits - so, does this mean he is following a plan or will he soon blow up?
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.

I think Letesenbet Gidey might be trying to break 14 this Saturday
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
