I worry greatly for her that she is working with convicted drug cheat Dennis Mitchell. A young, impressionable, talented athlete being instructed on how to make the Olympics from a shady character. We've seen this before (Marion Jones), how did that turn out?
just dumb. really really dumb. she states that the last two years competing with her high school has been the most fun she's ever had. so now she's going to go train with professionals instead.
so many kids' parents have a limited vision when it comes to athletics. it's a real pity.
From the outside looking in...
Distancing herself from Dennis Mitchel and Justin Gatlin needs to be seriously considered by her, her family, and if she goes pro - her sponsors.
So she got to 11.10 without ever being tested for drugs (presumably- maybe at Jr Nats). Maybe going to Mitchell isn't a "fall from grace"-has it already happened?
Believe she trained in the Mitchell group all of 2014... perhaps earlier.
An amazing talent that is unfortunately associated with people that naturally cause one to question. And that is a sad reality of the sport.
Known drug offenders should not be allowed to coach young kids or train in the same group as young kids.
According to this article, she has been training with Mitchell since she was 6 years old?
Does anyone know at what point she will be required to register with USTFA?

I worked as a USADA testing escort at USATFs/USATF Jrs, As a double winner at that meet last July in Eugene, she was tested at least twice.
Ah, yes, the dog-and-pony, song-and-dance of in-competition testing.

For sure - they should test ALL athletes from the age of 16 EVERY day - if you are old enough to drive you are old enough to be tested frequently. Then we would know who was dirty or not. The government should do this by taking money from pension plans and other irrelevant sources (people should be put down at 65 anyway, way too old to be living let alone be supported by government handouts) so this can be monitored daily. It's the only way to truly get rid of dopers. Countries that don't buy in and do this as well should be banned from International competition or nuked out of existence.

Not ALL athletes, but the most prominent ones should be tested out of competition once every month at an unannounced time each month. People like Gatlin, Rupp, Gay, Jeter, Felix, Merritt, Symmonds, Centrowitz, Manzano, Meb, Flanigan, Huddle, Eaton, Hoffa, etc. The top end performers. If they test positive, give them a 4 year ban.

Funny thing is, they tried to test Marion Jones when she was 17 because she was competing at the pro level and rumors were already surfacing, but her mom chased off the tester. She then quit track and went to UNC for basketball (and of course, no testing). After graduation, she hooked up with BALCO and the rest is....
Anyone who thinks that top HS sprinters don't juice doesn't know the culture.

Why do you think that Kenya is disallowing runners to compete in road races until the age of 20? They will have been on all kinds assistance for several years by then but their biological passport won't have started.
I think he means for out-of-competition testing.
