Curious what others thought of The Interview? I am no prude and not offended by F bombs but I could not get past the first 20 minutes of the movie and shut it off. It was just BAD

It's a total piece of crap that everyone ran out to see because North Korea objected to it.
Sucked. I expect to see a similar movie about Russia in the next couple years.
Seemed like a typical Seth Rogan movie. Some funny stuff, some dumb stuff and a lot of nothing in between. What were people expecting?

Shows you how stupid the North Koreans are. If they never said a word about it, it would have completely bombed.
Maybe Sony "hacked" themselves to promote a crappy movie.
I though it was hilarious. I can understand an old person like you not liking it, you probably would not have understand the various references to modern popular culture. Joseph Gordon levitt with the kittens was fvcking hilarious
I loved it. Hilarious! Guess you're too much of an old fogey.
Yea you are just old. It certainly wasn't "deep." However, it was kind of funny. Nothing great, then again, it was Seth Rogen. You know what you are getting into before it starts.

That's what I've thought all along. Its ironic that Americans are so aware of propaganda that exists in North Korea and Russia, but is oblivious to the propaganda that exists here.
As with the other people in this thread, it wasn't amazing, but my 50-something year old dad and I enjoyed it to an extent. At the very least the movie was polished, that's about it.
I'm with you, not a very good movie. I am 48, however, I do get the modern humour et al. Most of it is too heavy-handed and clunky and even a little awkward. Nothing ingenious about it at all.
James Franco's character, especially when he was doing the fluff entertainment show, was very poorly done.
I think the whole hacking thing was an ingenious marketing tactic, much more creative than any part of the movie.
Seth Rogan has the capability to be an excellent writer/comedian, but he is really low-brow and until he gets more clever, I won't pay to see his movies.
The hacking was not a PR bit. Sony will be lucky to make money on this movie, and still have some expensive lawsuits to come (~47,000 employees got their social security #s leaked because they were stored in an unprotected word doc). That's not what I'd call brilliant.

Pure dreck. I wanted to leave the theatre that ran The Interview trailer before our feature film.

Hahahahah yes! what a noob. probably runs a 25min 5k
Nice try, North Korean Department of Propaganda.
"Repulsive" is a strong word. It wasn't very funny, it was poorly acted and the writing was super lazy, but repulsive?
I work in comedy. That doesn't make me an expert, but just saying, it's something I work with/on every day and have for decades.
I know there's no accounting for taste and especially with humor everyone marches to his own drummer ... but The Interview is damn near perfect. The writing is as close to perfection as you're going to see. The premise is genius. The acting is appropriately broad and committed.
Freaking hysterical movie. Loved it. Belongs in the same class as Anchorman, Dodge Ball, and Tropical Thunder. It's that good.
