It was a balloon.
In the mid-1940s, the Army/Air Force started launching high altitude balloons from Alamogordo Army Air Field, which was about 100 miles from Roswell. The balloons were part of Project Mogul, which was related to a series of high attitude research programs, using balloons to loft various types of instruments high into the atmosphere.
This particular balloon crashed, and those who investigated had never seen anything like it and had no idea what it was.
The entire story is relayed by Joe Kittinger, the man who did the extreme high altitude balloon jumps in the 1960s. His fre-fall jump from over 19 miles up (via balloon) in 1960 was a world record until very recently. He was also the first man to make a solo crossing of the Atlantic Ocean in a gas balloon and the first human to observe the curvature of the Earth. Kittinger was working on the Mogul project and was involved at Roswell. He was also a fighter pilot in Vietnam and POW. The guy is a true American hero.
His book "Come up and get me" is a fantastic read.
Oh, and here's an original FBI field report from 1947 about the incident:

Note that the "disc" is actually supported by a balloon, then goes on to say "the object found resembles a high altitude weather balloon with a radar reflector"...exactly the sort of thing one would expect from research project Mogul.
To keep the truth hidden, the Air Force forced him to write that book.

LOL!
The Roswell story is actually a very small part of the book. Much of it is stories about high altitude balloons and being a test pilot, etc. For example, back then, of course, they didn't have ways to computer model things as they do now. As planes became much faster, they realized guys who ejected at Mach 2 or higher would spin out of control and black out, often dying. They designed some new style parachute to combat this, but there was no real way to simulate this without testing it live. This was important for high-altitude spy planes, the space program, etc. So Kittinger goes up 75,000 feet in a balloon and jumps with a test parachute someone probably hand made -- and survives. Or something like that. Etc..
Also, more truth will be revealed tomorrow night on Coast to Coast AM. The topic is Project Serpo....there's proof that the U.S. sent people to live on another planet.
I have to admit I enjoyed your post from an entertainment point of view. You're batshit crazy if you believe this but is does make a good premise for a video game (if it's not already).
sure maybe with no need to indent for paragraphs you doc ?
but what the hell ?
Their Back. Pentagon is scrambling right now trying to figure out what to do with the Spy Balloon 🎈 from China that is flying way high above the USA. Not the first time for something like this to happen.
The word is given: Warp speed, Mister Scotty.
Their back is doing what? I'm confused.
I went to high school with a girl who's father was involved in all that, she talked about hearing him on the phone talking about the dead bodies found there. Yep, it happened and they have those dead alien bodies or did.
^ what was in that post that the government made Deno edit out???
I'm seeing a lot of talk about "space" travel and "space" aliens, and wondering why everyone assumes they would have to travel through space. Some alternatives are:
- another dimension
- the astral plane
- a time warp
- a long range teleportation device
- sidestepping back and forth from a parallel universe
"Does anyone here think an alien spacecraft(s) actually crashed near Roswell, NM in July 1947?"
I'm sure some here do, but those of us who lived in Roswell in the middle of the last century know better.
In any case, the odds against humans' ever encountering an intelligent extraterrestrial species are astronomically high.
I think the answer is no.
Now then, angelic beings are outside the limitations of human’s understanding of physics, and would not require a spaceship.

It was a Chinese weather balloon.
You mean the US government makes the decisions it does WITH the benefit of foresight? Inconceivable.
Is that little kid from Denver in this balloon? Is it streaming live anywhere?
Their as in China 🇨🇳 😳
Was this wrong? If so thank yous for letting me know that I am a Moran. I'll stop now and let you discus .
