Nice start by the two girls on the inside of each group. When hand position in a 5k is WAY more important than staying on your feet.

That is a great race to watch, but it can't be the best comeback due to the lack of competition.

Holy Moses.
That was amazing but probably the worst announcing I have ever heard.

The announcers weren't exactly impartial, were they? They were obviously VERY upset by the last play of the game, the kickoff return for a touchdown.
What a surprise ending! Wow!

Pretty awesome. Great post.
This is at the Illinois State Meet, but you really need to watch Stephanie Brown (Arkansas) bring it home for her team. She is the anchor leg. Enjoy!
that was impressive
Euro Champs 4x400. I love it when the announcer doesn't notice until the race is over. Watch from about 2:20.
George Foreman quits boxing for over 10 years, gets to OVER 400 pounds, says he is going to come back and be world champion, is dismissed as a joke, fights his first comeback fight at 350 or so pounds, boxing experts say he will et hurt, keeps knocking out fighters, loses a tough fight to a prime Evander Hollyfield, fights a few more times gets to fight again for the title against Michael Moorer who was 35 or 36 and 0 at the time, Foreman knocks out Moorer to be the new world heavyweight champion.
Foreman I think was age 46 (held it to age 48) when he did it, becoming the oldest boxing champion ever (since broken by Bernard Hopkins.
Side note Foreman was also the 3rd or 4th youngest heavyweight champion ever at age 23.
Watch from about 1:50

Hands down the greatest comeback of all time.
The anchor on the winning team is also believed to have no toes
Obea Moore anchoring the 4x4 at the 1995 California State Meet.

Every time I watch it I almost wonder if he'll make it this time.
Penn Relays, 1979.
Renaldo Nehemiah came from way way back on the anchor leg of the 4x400 to win the race for Maryland. And that was after anchoring the 4x100, 4x200, and shuttle hurdle relays to wins.
Lots of urban legend stories about how fast he ran that last 400m. I just know it was damn fast.

This thread is amazing. There needs to be a 30 for 30 about this game or a 10-page SI longform feature.
Maybe I should pick one of these race videos and try and track down the participants. That would be a fun story to write.
But for the record, the greatest comeback of all time was the 2004 Red Sox.
