Mid-Atlantic will have three teams.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Indiana shock everyone with a second at Great Lakes. Pushing Penn State in if they get 3rd on their home course.
I think Indiana gets second at their home course, pushing Penn State in from the Mid-Atlantic. SUU won't make it, and MSU will because MSU will get 3rd after Michigan blows up at regionals.. Just wait for it.
My bad. He will definitely make it. They all will. I read the post wrong.

Rad Gunzenhauser won't make it to the dance. No chance.
Biekert doesnt run for Central Conn anymore he's at Iowa state.
watch out for Willy Fink from Eastern Michigan as a dark horse to get out of the great lakes region

Little bro beating big bro in XC too? Will the maize and blue put a stake in the course?
I'd like to know what inside information you have to claim 1) Michigan loses to MSU, and 2) How on Earth Indiana gets an auto
I'm intrigued with Indiana from the Great Lakes pushing in Penn State from the Mid-Atlantic.
Penn State just gets a point for beating Indiana at Big Tens, right. The Big Ten schools are spread across multiple regions: Midwest, Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, and wherever Rutgers (and Maryland - no team for men) run Regionals.
This is confusing.

[comment: Indiana runs at Madison/Great Lakes, MSU must refer to Michigan State if they are getting ahead of Michigan, but SUU is out there in the Mountains, along with Montana State University (MSU?).]
Rad G. just won the A-10's. It would not surprise me if he qualified.
Luis Vargas from Elon in the southeast. Ran 24:20 solo at Pre Nationals in the slower race. Won his conference meet by 54 seconds. Hasn't lost a race yet in 2014.

I am not sure how this all works. So my question to you would Penn State need to grab third to get an at large bid?I am assuming if they get fourth they don't go. I think it is going to be Nova, Navy. Princeton, PSU and Georgetown in a toss up.
Thanks in advance.

I am not good enough on the points permutations even having just read the NCAA document. If Minnesota/Michigan State and Indiana get in they will have at least three points (Michigan also), so they would probably get in and push the number 3 team in if they are fourth and the #3 does not have enough points. However, they are currently ranked #3 in the Region and are racing at home, which usually helps, especially in iffy weather. Given how they ran, would it be that hard for them to be third in the region?
My guess is that Indiana will look better at Regionals than almost everyone is expecting. Look what they did at NCAAs last year despite losing their #1 guy at the Regional race. This year they will probably have to run Regionals hard because they were still training pretty hard through October, given the kind of statements that their coach makes about how they train and prep through the season. A lot of people do not think that highly of him, but he certainly has been delivering pretty well for several years.
I do not think that Penn will finish in the top 5. I think it will be Navy who will finish 3rd. Navy will not make it in because of a lack of points by not going to the "real" meets. I don't think 3 teams can make it if this happens. Don't count out Schroeder. I think he will be one of the four.
Last year, at this time, someone published a list of all men and women in the Northeast and their predicted place in the Regional. anybody know who did that and whether it is going to be done again this year?

Rutgers is Mid-Atlantic but that's a moot point because they suck. If PSU finishes 4th they aren't going. 3rd and they have a shot with at-large. Getting 2nd and auto qualifying isn't out of the cards however.
