Alan Webb is the real BigDaddyWooWoo! HUMBLED
The MAN!
Just so you know Alan...no one has encouraged me like you have. I personally feel a sense of debt to you for the help you have given me in my running career.
I was a Freshman in College when you left michigan and rose to your peak, dealing to the likes of Balaa and mixing it with the top africans. I wanted to be like you, and my training and motivation reflected that, as did my team mates.
You are/were the most talked about runner amongst all running circles as well as here on letsrun. I personally want to thank you for your years of fantastic racing and the inspiration you provided.
I was a walk-on that made it all American (Div 2) because of you.
Best of luck and thank you.
Hear! Hear!
Dude Alan all I have to say is you are a fcking legend. I got into running in 2008, right after you became the man. Gotta say that you impacted my career in a great way and I'll never forget it. I don't go on Letsrun nearly as much as I used to, but I saw this and I had to post. Can't thank you enough for the epicness you brought to American middle distance. Without you I'd have to watch a bunch of borderline lame guys battle it out in btch azz races. You fcking own man. Thanks for the great times.
Alan, you're the man! I became a triathlete last year once my legs couldn't take running any longer and you're a big inspiration for me. Hope training goes well and best of luck next year!
As an high school coach, I noticed two phenomena improved teenage interest, knowledge, and development of national MD and LD running: The Web and Alan Webb ! Many of my guys have met ya at various Footlocer or indoor functions. Thank you for being such a gracious talent. I'll spread word about auction.
Can you take a selfie with the AF1?
Legit or?
holy cow it's Alan Webb
Let's just think for a second what it would mean if Jordan Hasay posted.
But seriously, good on you Alan for helping with charity.
"stompin' in my errr force onessss"
WEBB IS BACK BABY!!!!
3, 2 , 1...
WEBB IS BACK, BABY!
I want to be you. I mean I'm not a world level track star, nor will I be as good as you in triathlons, but I want to be a triathlete after my xc and track career is donezo!
I hate charities that give micro-loans. The people who get the loans use the money but don't make enough to pay it back so they get another micro loan to pay off the first. It becomes a bubble where the first in/out gets principle plus interest. IN South Africa they cap these rates at 23% but other countries have no cap and it can go higher than 900%.
The companies lose little/nothing because they used your money while getting great salaries, which top $6 million as of 2012 and they have $91 million in reserve.
Give local, help local.

Mr. Webb, your posting here is a momentous occasion.
Indeed. I knew it was the sign of the apocalypse. Now the Kenyan marathoners are testing positive....

Weldon and I have always said that. No one fascinated us or moved the needle as much as Webb.
-Rojo
PS. When I got a text from Webb last night. It said something like, "Rojo, it's alan. i got your number from chris. Can i make a post for some spikes I"m getting rid of for charity."
I said sure thinking he was a guy chris and i know by the name of alan enos. Then he sent me an email and i started laughing. "He's back, baby."
PPS. LetsTri.com will be launching tmw.
So you posted on letsrun after all these years to:
1. Get us to spend money.
2. Still be relevant in the running world.
I already give to many charities through running races and other means. I need something from you to give to this one. Tell us some stuff about yourself or your training that we didn't know. Details.
The only thing that would have been more awesome is if Alan said "pps..I am DONE" at the end of his post.
I bid $115, went for a run, came back, and they were already up to $150+. Should have remembered the average income on LetsRun is $200K.
You couldn't throw in free shipping?
I see someone has already done it, but I can't resist.
WEBB IS BACK BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alan, I hope you know everyone thinks you're the man.
P.S. You better make the Olympic team.
Best rojo line ever.
