I'm generally supportive of runners, but:
- the weather was dreadful
- these records are silly
- isn't that unsafe for the baby? I thought only older babies could use running strollers

Good publicity for running. Most people couldn't relate to or give a hoot about an African man/woman running 27:00/30:30 for a road 10K, but they could relate to the difficulty of pushing a baby stroller, let alone at 6:07 per mile pace for a 10K.

Some years ago this video was posted of a Dad breaking 5:00 in the mile while pushing a baby jogger. One of the comments on YouTube said he did it in 4:48. The video is mildly entertaining.

I've done mile repeats on trails at sub 5:15 pushing pushing my son in a baby jogger, run 15 mile long runs and won a couple 5ks. To the people who commented at the bottom of the artcle, they don't know what they're talking about. The baby was perfectly safe.

As a world record holder, does she chuckle at Alan's silly little american record?
-
She seems like a really weird chick to me. Anyone else get that vibe?

I don't know what you mean...

Lonely runner boys never KNOW what you mean. Their only experiences are first hand solos.

Manufactures say 6 months, but Consumer Reports recommends waiting a year. This baby was 7 months, so technically safe, but I'd still be nervous.
I'm not a parent yet, but I'm curious when did everyone else started running with their babies? -

I don't understand what you are saying, you are going to have to be a little more clear. -

Not at all. I have had a lot of respect for Julia ever since she came on LR and shut down a bunch of basement dwelling trolls that were bad mouthing Alan. Definitely a tough woman and someone to admire. -
What's her best time for 10km minus the stroller?

parveneh moeyidi can do that all day, every day, for weeks on end

Does the rain cover help stroller aerodynamics and should stroller rain covers be legal? Is it really a baby size altitude tent being used to mask the effects of PEDs? LetsRun wants to know! I expect the BroJos to get right on this story and answer the important questions like, "Why Paula didn't put this record out of reach when she had the chance?" -
Totally weird, and ok with it. Why else do you think I love Portland ?? http://www.pcs.org/blog/item/why-is-portland-weird/
My 10K PR is pretty terrible. I have never ran it on the track and with my lack of success at 5000m, I am terrified of even attempting it. I would probably be more likely to run a faster time in slop/xc conditions. (I have track ADD combined with over-thinking syndrome that I can't go as hard for anything above 3000m on a track).
I ran 35:48 last year (and noted in my blog that I got my a$$ kicked by over 4 minutes by Emily Infeld in that same race at Tufts) - last fall for me was terrible, so I'd imagine I could likely run a good 90 seconds faster now, but still not gonna touch true professionals which is why I'm just a club level runner.
Hand Shalane a stroller at the start of any 10K road race without ever have previously touched one in her life and she would likely run 34:00 or faster but I know Jerry wouldn't allow that ;) - which is why I got to have fun this past weekend. -

Haha! Nice reply.
You put the WR for stroller running safely out of reach of my wife, by the way. I think she could have had a shot at the 43:xx or whatever it was before.
