This is a tough course. Virginia will be ready for the hills. Will the other teams? Success is going to depend on strong runners who can maintain a quick pace in the last couple miles after dealing with some big hills. It may come down to the ending straight away, you can make up a few seconds in that last half mile.
They were ready enough to get a distant 4th. King ready enough for 29th.
Syracuse runs great but comes up a little short of domination. They won easily, but I have the feeling that their ego is a little inflated. They ran to sweep the top 5, running with 6/7 in the top group of 10 just before 5k.
A podium is not guaranteed with that attitude. If they run nationals to finish 3rd, they will finish 3rd. If they run to win, they will finish outside the top 5. So with the way that team is...
... I think they will finish outside the top 5....

Wow...that might be a bit of a stretch.

They will be on the podium. When your fifth guy runs 23:35 on a hilly course, you're good. Oregon might beat them, but I don't see anyone else competing with them for a podium spot.
Everyone runs but only one person gets the prize, so run your race to win.
wow, Syracuse really is that goodlegtalk wrote:

Colorado? I definitely think they have a good shot to podium, but I'm not sure I could label them hands down favorites for third.
Well obviously Colorado. They were a given.
I think Oklahoma State will be tough as well.
Wow - the course ran very fast today. Keep in mind Chelimo (13:20 5k) only ran mid 23's here. Not sure if that's the course record from Hehir - certainly close to it.
Not surprised Cuse dominated. Very surprised how poorly Virginia ran.
NC State men. wow
Geiger's bots always show up when it matters
Always? They showed up very well today but last year at ACC would ruin your always theory.

7 of top 15 is domination.
regionals last year with their backs against the wall.
got the job done
Virginia and Pete Watson, great at recruiting and hype (University of Virginia is pretty easy to be at), but not good coach. Especially at home.
Wow, times were really excellent for that course. Was this the standard panorama farms "8k" course? Must have been hard and dry.
Yes it was the standard panorama 8k course.
Conditions were perfect for fast times. The UL Kenyans pushed it early too.
Great race and CR by Heir.
