Webb's swim trajectory needs more than to "continue upward", it needs a quantum leap. He was 52 out of the water yesterday and nearly a minute and a half behind Henri Schoeman (who comes out of the water with Gomez and the Brownlees consistently). Can you think of an example of someone who has made that level of improvement? Mario Mola and Richard Murray are superb runners: they would give Webb a good race even without swimming and running first, but both of them are poor swimmers. They have been working hard with Filliol for the last two years on their swims and yet neither has made more than the most marginal of improvements.
