I know two guys who are close. One will make it in 8+ years after he gets done with residency he ran 13:50's, wife is 8/10.
The other one will never break 14 but he ran 14:20's, wife 8-9/10 and he will also be close to 250k once done with residency.
I am more the DII triple ran sub 4:10 mile never focused on 5k but ran faster than the above guy in cross. Making ~100k but am in the top 5-10% of earners where I live. Wife 7/10. I sincerely think I am happier working a normal 40 hr week than the above guys slaving through med school and residency but it is all perspective.
Yes, your lifetime PR just has to be sub-14, you don't have to do three at once.
So far all the examples had been pro runners... which do qualify, but I was hoping for some more examples of guys who ran sub-14 and made $250k in something other than their running ability. Those are some good additions.
