Great job by Sisson: sub-32 to beat Infeld!

Awesome story on letsrun by Chris Lotsbom. There's Jordan asking for directions and trying to figure out the tangent. Proves there's more to racing than just racing.

Let's not forget that Mary Cain became the first American, male or female to win a gold medal at the Jr. World T & F Championships. What a race!
Cain took the easy route by not competing in her signature event - 1500m. The idea at the time was to save her for later meets (Zurich, etc.) that she didn't even run. Great that she got a gold, but this is a Pro, not your normal Junior (as were AE and EC, neither being NOP members). Is that fair? maybe not, but the expectations got higher the moment Salzar became her coach - anything less than the best in the world (ever!!) simply isn't good enough.
Hasay is running great - makes you wonder what the heck she was doing (or not doing) at Oregon.
Rowbury is also running well - no better than previous racing indicated, but getting in the DL races regularly, and having Simpson to chase has made the difference, moreso than just having AlSal as a coach.
wish I could run that fast . . . seriously

Cain did not run ridiculous times. She ran 2:08 and 4:06. Those are hardly "ridiculous" times for a 4:04/sub2 runner. Levins did not PR this year.
I partially messed up about Rowbury. She did PR. But barely was my point. I did say she and Rupp had OK/good seasons. That is certainly true. They didn't have GREAT seasons, just OK/good.
Are you incredibly dumb or just a troll intentionally picking irrelevant times.
2:35 1k indoors WJR (if you're bad at math which you probably are, that's way faster than her 2:08 800 season opener you're quoting) 4:24.1 indoors (her 4:06 was ER genius), 4:27 at milrose off a pedestrian pace and 4:07 to win nats at altitude. Yea I'd say she ran some ridiculous times at age 17 all prs.
Sisson ran well. Not surprising. She's been running along side Jordan since junior olympics. A great runner. Keep it going Emily!
Doesn't hurt that she's so good-looking ;P

Jordan and Emily may be the only long distance runners left from that seventh-eighth grade junior Olympic meet in Eugene Oregon way back in 2004. Does anyone remember anyone else who ran in Eugene who may still be running today?
^ skimmed the results & did not see any other familiar names in that event/age group. However, did see among other distance results from that '04 JO meet these:
Youth girls 800m
2. Chanelle Price
Midget boys 1500
7. Parker Stinson
Midget boys 3000
3. Stinson
Youth boys 1500
12. Luke puskedra
Was there another phantom Amy Hastings at 2014 Chicago Marathon? Here are Amy hasting's REAL splits to 10K:Split Time Of Day Time Diff min/mile miles/h10K 08:04:24AM 00:34:22 17:10 05:32 10.8634:22, not 31:22. You need trifocals, perhaps?

Why would anyone care, Amy Hastings went through 10K in 31:22 yesterday in Chicago accdording to the Brojos report.
Amy Hastings – 5th place – 2:27:03
Hastings tied her pr in a tough, well-run race. She put herself in contention for a top placing as she led the women’s race until after 10K as she went through 10km in 31:22, nine seconds ahead of the pack of African women.
Only five individuals still running from that Junior Olympic group from 2004? That's pretty eye opening.
Wow, what teeth.

Those aren't irrelevant times - those are her two main events that have a history to be compared with. Those times can't be "ridiculous" if they are slower than her PRs genius.
Now I'm really glad that I mentioned her in my book. She has always had real potential.
Someone mentioned that Joan Benoit Samuelson, Shalane, and Jordan all jogged the san Fran half marathon together? Anyone have pictures??
