it's been a good year for nop. too bad a large segment of the lrc community can't bear to recognize that.
rupp, cain, rowbury, hasay and levins have had good years.
Cain and Levins did not have a good year at all. This year was a step back for both of them. Too bad that YOU can't bear to recognize that.
Hasay had an OK year. Rupp and Rowbury had OK/good years. Still slower than their all time PRs though.
Do you wear the fact that you've done TEN MARATHONS as a badge of honor, or use it as an excuse for your ignorance? Just wondering.

Why would anyone care, Amy Hastings went through 10K in 31:22 yesterday in Chicago accdording to the Brojos report.
Amy Hastings – 5th place – 2:27:03
Hastings tied her pr in a tough, well-run race. She put herself in contention for a top placing as she led the women’s race until after 10K as she went through 10km in 31:22, nine seconds ahead of the pack of African women.
Well lets see , every elite american woman in the last 38 years has run the Tufts race , Jordan now has the number two time on the course. A well planned kick wins the race.
Amy , good run , ties her PR on the one of the fastest marathon courses in the world ,below average effort for her. Stupid early pacing/racing by Amy kept her off the podium.
Jordan never seems to tire. She is relentless. Been in the spotlight since was 12 years old and that light seems to be getting brighter and brighter. Right on Jordan!
She is so far having an injury-free professional career. With no loss of momentum she isbb destined to have a stellar career.
Jordan Hasay has the HEART of a cutie pie!

Did you?
No I have not, never even ran the race. Why would you ask me that?

They both had great performances this year, Cain more than Levins. You can't ignore their indoor season where Cain ran ridiculous times. Outdoors there was nothing "major" to peak for and Levins ran a PR effort race during his peak champ season.

Because I know that as a 34 year old 2 pack a day smoker she finished second to a HS senior (Lynn Jennings who would come back a decade later and string 5 or 6 wins together) in the first running of this race (then called Bonne Bell Mini-marathon).
I do not remember if she ever won it so I asked. Frankly I was hoping to get her to share some of the reasons she as a AR/WE holder found it a 'fun race'.
corrections 24 year old AR/WR

Nice job Jordan.
Hi!!!
This is patti. To answer the question of winning TT..yes I won in '81 (ohmygoodness, so long ago).
I ran a 32:24 (?) It was a new AR at the time.
And I found the racing the course not only fun, but exciting. The turn around on Memorial Drive lead to a sea of women. Having run only a few women only races, I found it fun...(and of course anytime one leads a race...it's always fun! LOL!
As I was comming off the Mass. Ave bridge, Sarah Lindsay and Gillian Adams were entering the bridge. I had just come home from racing xc in Norway. And that was fun too.
I liked racing, it was fun.

Cain did not run ridiculous times. She ran 2:08 and 4:06. Those are hardly "ridiculous" times for a 4:04/sub2 runner. Levins did not PR this year.
I partially messed up about Rowbury. She did PR. But barely was my point. I did say she and Rupp had OK/good seasons. That is certainly true. They didn't have GREAT seasons, just OK/good.
I would love to have had a "not good" year like Cain's 2014 --
USATF Indoor champion
USATF outdoor 2nd
World junior gold
Millrose mile winner
I would even settle for Levins' "not good" year -- iirc, some indoor PBs and CWG bronze medal.

A 12 second PR at 5K is hardly "barely" a PR
Two sub 4 1500m performances, a 14:48 5k, 8:29 3K and 2 mile AR in one year is a GREAT season.
Let's not forget that Mary Cain became the first American, male or female to win a gold medal at the Jr. World T & F Championships. What a race!
