No way. It's NBC.
No way. It's NBC.
Is it just my feed? That camera shot from the elite male's front left keeps breaking up.
I can't stand this coverage. I'm going for a run and will find out what happened after it's over.
I really don't like that 4:34 1st mile. If accurate I think they might pay the price at the end.
Hopefully it was off a bit.
9 in lead pack with 3 pacers
10k 29:27 4-6 seconds slower than last year's course record run
The online tracking says 29:31 for 10k whereas in the media room they said 29:27.
In the women's race the big news is Amy Hastings is still leading. 12 seconds up on field.
And who is right next to her, LRC's 1.1, Steve Soprano.
The big joke with Steve this week was that Amy was going to beat him. He thought however she would go out slower than him but they are in the same TV screen.
K. Bekele looked at his watch a moment ago and shook is head.

The weather is nearly perfect. Walking over there was more wind I felt than ideal but the wind right off the lake may not be the wind inland.
I'm assuming the miles are accurate as Sean Hartnett's crew is here.
1 4:34
2 4:53
3 4:46
5k 14:42
4:34 for a first mile is not a good thing. The yo-yoing isn't a good thing.
Pack of 9 and 3 pacers still together.
Women's race. Amy Hastings is now leading
1 5:17
2 5:43
3 5:37
5k 17:14
Since when did TV presenters need a "time out"... NBC needs to ask BBC about how to present a race. Or even better get Hutchings on there - the GOAT of running commentary!
No it's not you, the feed and coverage sucks.
Wejo, the weather lady said there was a tailwind for that first mile (only, so far). That at least partly explains the fast first mile for both the men and women.
Is Sparano in the mustache with the Mona Lisa singlet?

Haha,, I can imagine. Its such a pity Im gonna miss everything. Right now Im driving to Bloenfontein, and for the next hour or so Im not gonna see crap.
39:45 for Bobby Curtis and Matt Llano 1st Americans at 8 miles. So they are sub 2:11 pace.LEaders were 37:56 at 8 miles.Wesley Korir has fallen off a bit so lead pack is 8 + 3 pacers. Here's a photo of Steve and Amy:
The LRC tradition of pacing in Chicago is unintentionally continuing. 1.1 w @HastyHastingspic.twitter.com/RGrxjpjhxO

they better at least stop fing around when the pacers drop out and moves are made
I have to ask why Wesley Korir bothers.....Is it for appearance money?

I totally agree. Always great to have him as a commentator.
There have been as much commercial time as actual race coverage
Welcome to The Today Show with some fast little black people

Are you watching the NBC feed? They haven't shown the women for a while now.
