Really nice to see Kipchoge get this win. I've always been a fan of the guy.
He looked GREAT in the last mile. Love that smile.

Wild idea (far future, I know). Use a drone with high res camera and strong mic to get the "sound of the runners".
One of the best things about a race is to hear the feet, the breathing, and fans as the runners go by. Get the drone to cover the whole thing.
Agreed with sound, and why stop at mic/camera, if Dominoes can deliver pizza from drones, how about a Gatorade/Powerbar sponsored drone delivering fuel?
LOL Kipchoge isn't even tired

It is unfortunate Kipchoge's great shape was ignored by the organizers' obsession with setting this race for Bekele. Kipchoge was at worst in 2:03:30 shape but the pacing which wasn't set to target that kind of time killed his ambitions. Anyway, I hope he will be emboldened by the fact that Bekele could not handle even such a slow pace.
Looks that way
Kipchoge's great shape was flagged up here recently
He could have gone much quicker today
Holy shit! Kipchoge's running around ggiving the fans high fives! This guy is awesome.
Sad to see no fans lining the Roosevelt hill.
Has anyone ever been as Kipchoge for their first 4 marathons? Can we say GOAT?

What? I thought they were told to target 1:01:40 (2:03:20) pace. Did they not?
What a joke that the coverage missed the break.

The TV coverage missed the Kipchoge break too!!!!! This is legendary.
Pathetic.
Quote of the day from former NFLer Mike Adamle, who is one of the announcers: "I guess sometimes we get too caught up in that crap?" (talking about course records).

Still pretty good for Bekele. Don't know if he'll ever go sub-2:04 though.
10 bucks says we miss the critical break of the women's race because of another update from the weather lady at Mile 1
Kipchoge runs back onto the course to give high fives as kennyb finishes.
That was awesome.
Whats happening with hastings?
