1) No amount if exercise will prevent high cholesterol level from killing people (cardiovascular diseases). Diet can prevent these diseases almost completely if started young. Over 40% die from cardiovascular diseases.
2) Diet prevents cancer too. This is about 20% of all deaths.
3) Outdoor exercise can be risky.(accidents)
Simple statin drug will beat exercise in lifespan competition. :)
1) Incorrect. Exercise mitigates much of the negative effect of a higher sat-fat diet that usually leads to induced high cholesterol/high ldl, and can reduce cholesterol levels in those with already high numbers.
If it is a genetic hypercholesterolemia then NEITHER diet nor exercise will help much, and a good diet will not prevent CVD in these cases if "started young."
2) high fitness is also linked to reduced cancer rates. Neither diet nor fitness can prevent many cancers
3) exercise doesn't have to be risky at all.

oh, it's you, statin guy from Finland. (clearly we agree on many points in other health debates) Statin is not a "DIET". So you are bringing up something entirely different here. As far as your statement that "Simple statin drug will beat exercise in lifespan competition" you need to demonstrate that with a trial comparing lifelong, or very long-term, regular, fairly intense exercise routine vs no exercise and regular statin use (we will control for diet, with a "fairly healthy" diet for both groups). This trial does not exist, and I would not bet on statin.
