Also, 15th place at 3:57.8 has to be a record for place... track or road.

Nice finish for Hasay considering she was doing so poorly on the track she had to turn to the roads.
This from someone who lacks the talent to be competitive at any level of the sport.

How is that relevant?
Very nice performance from McNamara to win a very, very close race, and also nice races from the non-milers Ryan Hill and Dan Huling (surprisingly fast>he seems like he is in shape to run under 8:10 steeple) and the best performance from German Fernandez in a long time. I think that GF ran 8:03 3k recently and now he runs 3:57! That is a major step up in quality. If he is in roughly 3:39 shape now, in another month, he'd probably run 3:34 again, but of course the season is over. A good start for him into the offseason. If he could stay healthy through Worlds next year, he would probably be on the team and run 3:32/13 low or better.

But if you have a bad day or DNF, it could be zero at tbe Continental Cup.

Nothing you said has anything to do with what I said. Why did you quote me?
Because most are in top shape dipshet, and those that aren't many would have lost anyway.

Withdrew with hamstring injury.
If her Wikipedia entry is correct, her PR for a mile before today was an indoor time of 4:28.37.

You do realize it is a downhill mile and there was a pretty strong tailwind today as well?
Good day for the Irish with two 3rd places.

Hasay beat Olympians and Euro champs and was right on the heels of others.
You are also a moron. Beating Olympians and euro champs is meaningless unless they are in top form.
Hasay had a good race.
Good job on doubling down on being a moron. They were all in great shape.
If you ever have the chance to not be a moron, choose to not be a moron.
Foot-by-foot, NYC is the most videod city in the world.
By chance, is there a video link to the race for those of us stranded in one of the fly-over states?

You are being a moron again. If they were 4+ seconds behind Simpson then they obviously weren't in top form. I didn't say "great shape", but good job trying to move the goalposts.

I just watched the race on Flotrack. Go there.

Not being sarcastic. It's a good season finish for Hasay. Good to finish on an upswing instead of an aborted track season.

Double-downed Moron, you said "jordan hasay what an embarrassment. She had no business being in that race" and now you're trying to parse "good" and "great."
Please tell us more about moving goalposts.
Top 10 for both Matt and Mary! Wow! I guess that proves that Nikes are the best shoes and Al is the best coach....[quote]jjjjjjjjj wrote:

I'm not sure how much I'd bet on Fernandez' future.
And by the way kdkdk, elite milers in great shape will often finish 4 seconds, 8 seconds, even 12 seconds behind the winner. Have you ever watched an Olympic final? In fact, have you ever been to a track meet or left a comment on the internet? I'm obviously arguing with a high school sophomore here.
Nevertheless, don't drop in to just denigrate another runner. It's totally unnecessary, and it's the worst of the forums.
