Still the "B" squad for Kenya. Were the big names not interested in competing?
a bit parochial, but...Michael MF Shelley! Sub 15 min split 35-40kms pretty impressive, but most will argue why he didn't push earlier.
MS will never be a world beater but is one of those good honest distance runners who consistently get the best out of themselves.
Last year he ran Tokyo in Feb and went through half with the lead pack on 2:08 pace and finished in 2:13:12. In Oct he ran Chicago and went through half on 2:10 pace and finished in 2:13:09. So a 2:11 was a good run and still plenty of time age wise for improvement. It would be nice if he could turn a dollar out of his running.

I'm amazed about the progression of Chemlany. He didn't break 14 in college, started running 2:20 marathons after college, but then a few years later pops out a 2:07 and 2:06. Crazy.

some quite big names in that list. Didn't realise that Moneghetti had a gold, silver and bronze from the Commonwealths.
Just noticed Moneghetti's results. What a baller.

Five surging lead changes between De Castella and Ikangaa in the space of two minutes (58:20-1:00:20 of video).
Tried to find video of the 1990 race, which also had an epic finish, but could not.

Due to weather conditions.
Nice story here, Jim Peters led by 17 minutes going in to the stadium with 400m to go:
