You're comparing a boxing body to a runner's body. It depends on what you want. So quitting running and going to the gym is not going to get you the boxer's body. Taking up boxing and/or MMA--even just for fitness and fun--will be required. You don't have to be a professional boxer to reap the benefits this has for your appearance and fitness, and you'd be surprised how nice it makes your upper body look. You also don't have to give up running completely.
The boxer in this example has a smaller frame. 28 inch waist, but still was about 170 pounds.
You can still do aerobics and achieve that body. I never said you had to give up running.

Like the one guy said nobody cares about how fast you run in the real world. It doesn't matter. A perfect body has so many more benefits.
1. Your family respects you more
2. Your peers respect you more
3. Your boss and your inferiors respect you more
4. You get laid a lot more
5. You look better in clothes
6. You have more confidence
7. You will feel strong and be strong
8. Your body won't break down
It can just go on and on. Running real fast basically has no perks in life.
Glory, you fool, GLORY!!

Well, ya know, no benefits other than it's really, really fun to run fast. The enjoyment of being able to run well far outweighs the modest improvement in 1-5. If being able to zip around really quick doesn't have that affect for someone I can understand why they would pick the shredded body however.
#6 is nonsense, some people might but it is not universally applicable.
#8 is pretty questionable too. The bodies of good distance runners/cyclists/etc. don't break down unless there is really intense training involved...but in that case sprinters, NFL guys, NBA guys all break down their bodies as well from the training and playing of their sport.
If it were on the table, I'd go with a Chris Solinsky body and 12:58 5K, though I'd happily settle for a Chris Solinsky body and a 15:30 5K (I'm his height and weight but much softer and slower.) I think he has about the ideal body for a man that wants to run fast but still look like a man.
you are crazy running a 14:46 5k is great
How about this body and 13:10?

Wow. That guy actually looks half decent. There is no way he does anything much more than the mile though right?
To answer the question that's pretty tough.

Pretty sure 5000 is considered to be more than a mile. Lopez has run 13:06

You're right- with #6 most likely the reason you got yourself this way is a total lack of confidence in yourself and who you are as a person- unless you're a pro boxer.
Now, if you really think your body won't break down- wait until you're in your 50's. AND- with that body you are doing nothing healthy, it's all for show- again wait until you're in your 50's.
People in general will not respect you more because they will see you as doing something just to "look good'>
I'm not a skinny runner- 5'7/140- and I'm a decent age group runner. My colleagues (all educated, intelligent people) respect me because I'm healthy and very "youthful" for my age.

Your conclusions are a terribly misguided bunch of generalizations.
I know lots of people in the "real" world who care about how fast you (others) can run.
How is the real world something other than the world??
