If she'd gone out in 52 seconds then they wouldn't have caught her.

I just saw the interview with Hinriksdottir on Flotrack and I must admit, my heart went out to her. She said how "ashamed" she was because she quit, and that "she wasn't feeling too good about herself right now." Its pretty easy for us as fans to forget how much pressure a world championship--even if its only a junior world championship--can put on competitors.
so far in running races 27 medals awarded
22 to africans or people of african heritage
that's 82%.
which is surprisingly low to me
amazing that 82% seems low, but what can I tell you
the non africans are:
japan
australia
US
Bailey Roth with a huge PR in the steeple. 9:03 to 8:47ish

Will that count as a HSR? If it does, one of the oldest records is gone...

Wow. I didn't even realize. T&F News says through August 31st of the athletes senior year, so he broke it.
1500 heat with Efraimson is off.
Efraimson gets the 4th auto qualifying spot.
Men's 1500m was a really good race.

We got a good email the other day. Where are the Russians?
Did they not bring a team?
Why not?
Do they normally bring a team?
They brought a javelin thrower
lane country season best(may not reflect line-up for this race)
1 Nigeria 39.67
2 Australia 40.18
3 PR of China 39.75
4 Japan 39.23
5 United States 39.43
6 Jamaica 39.38
7 Trinidad and Tobago 40.06
8 Thailand 39.74
IMO USA needs 3meters on the field after the second leg(Bromell)to get hardware. Japan under 39 to be the third nation under and Nigeria out of one has a hard row to hoe to get on the podium. Will T'dad&T'go upset. Thailand sprinting with the big kids?
Japan 38.93
Nigeria 39.03
to the thousanths for 3,4&5.
Universal sports announcer told up twice that we were going to see the 300 meter steeple chase...imagine my disappointment.
Nigeria should have included the U20 team in Greene's contract
Maurice Greene to coach Nigerian track and field relay teams
EDIT
Nothing about U20 team in article

Maurice Greene
U.S. Olympic sprint champion Maurice Greene was named relay coordinator for Nigeria’s track and field team Thursday, according to African reports.
Greene’s contract reportedly begins later this month and includes the IAAF World Relay Championships in the Bahamas in May, the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, in July and August and the African Championships in Morocco in August.
Greene, the 2000 Olympic 100m champion who has done TV work for Eurosport in retirement, was the anchor of the U.S. 4x100m relay teams at the 2000 and 2004 Olympics.
The 2000 Olympic relay team won gold and was criticized for its posing and preening celebration. The 2004 team won silver with Greene making up some but not all of a deficit to Great Britain, which won by .01 of a second.
The Nigerian Athletics Federation recently banned 1968 U.S. Olympic 400m champion Lee Evans from coaching for giving a youth athlete performance-enhancing drugs. Evans was working as a consultant to the Lagos State Government

No, USA just needed to bring in the 100m and 200m champs to run the third and fourth legs.
Japan would have had the sub-39 with a better last handoff. Very impressive to get silver.
Cranny 4th, Alexa 6th. Hot podium hurdlers are hot.

Can you translate please?
Kipketer wins, the final was like the 2012 Olympics, top 7 PR'ed.
I pity your intelligence if you can't infer the meaning.
Japan takes Jamaica again. That Japanese anchor would have been a real threat to the US if he got the baton a little closer.
Age cheats making a mockery out of this whole thing.
US and Japan have been the most impressive nations who actually sent legit juniors. Props to the Brazilian who attempted the 800/1500 double as well. Would be heading home with two medals right now if it weren't for the cheats.
