No question MH had something more to give if she wanted to run more fluidly--instead of thinking-- leading to a 14:39 maybe?

Holding something in reserve is something she's been conditioned to do though. It's part of racing.

However when you are thinking this way you begin to lose momentum that would have propelled you to a few less seconds.

I can understand though: none of us want to be outkicked at the last.

I think you ought to have a look at the splits before playing mind-reader unfurling such glib nonsense. The race was set up to perfection for anyone aiming to run 14:39-14:40. She gave it her best and set an AR and anyone who thinks she lost half a second, much less five, looking over her shoulder needs to schedule a CT scan.

Funny how Shannon got in Molly's head like that, considering she was running 18 seconds faster than Rowbury's PR at the moment.

It will be interesting if, in the next few years, Shanrow ends up with Huddle's AR while Huddle takes the 10000 AR. OTOH Jenny could move up and spoil the musical chairs.

I would LOVE to see a knock-down-drag-out 3000 between Molly, Emma, Shannon and Jenny right now.

Yeah, I know! It's not like they recently went head to head in a 5K that went down to the last 10 meters or anything.
