It is a kick if you're slowing down less. It's the 800. You fat arses who've never run under 2:10 for an 800 should stop pontificating. Bosse did kick and gained at the end. Look at his change in form. Have you ever actually raced at all?

And you are correct, everyone slows down at the end of ALL fast 800s. You're not supposed to run even splits. It's a kick if you're gaining on people. Everyone would consider Dave Wottle's 1972 race to be a kick but he did not speed up at the end.
