The results list a 1500m time as well as the final mile results. Leer came through 1500m in 3:36.40, so ran 15.42 for the last 109 meters to finish the complete mile. Patrick Casey ran 3:37.27/3:52.62 (finished the last 109 meters in 15.35). Kyle Merber finished fastest to get 5th, running 3:39.64/3:54.76 (15.12).
Leer has a 3:33/4 in him right now, but has to get into the right race.
great video of the races.
track is way short.
Twitter seems to have christened Will Leer and Aisha Praught a couple?????
Two pro runners from college programs not known for pumping out pro runners.

who?
In Leer's defense it was fairly warm that day and he has stated that he doesn't like to run in the heat; even for a chance to make a World Championship team.[/quote]
Being an Arizona resident and local road racer I can sympathize with the heat issue. But if Leer has Olympic aspirations he is going to have to throw down a good run at the US Finals in the heat of the Summer. Unless he lucks out and the event is held in Eugene OR.
Good to see Leer get a W and hit a good time.

Leer was in a "right race" last week with the winner running 3:33.
As usual, he was way back at the bell lap then.
The race isn't the problem, any sort of guts is.
Cool to see Leslie drop a 3:53, fastest dude I ever raced.
Leslie is the best runner in the country right now that gets no recognition or buzz on this message board.
8:20 steeple and 3:34 last year. 3:53 mile this year.
He gets gradually better every year.

Yes, I bet he's headed for some good steeples this year.
Cool to see Pat Casey (fastest guy I ever raced) run 3:52. The locomotive continues to roll.
So he's run faster than Quenton Cassidy?
But he looks like Frank Shorter...I'm so confused.

Will Leer is actually 47 years old. Bloody age-cheaters.
nice win by king leer.
king of the B race.
which is in no way meant to be a derogatory term. that's like close to top 10 in the world.
the 351 in a hoover race and a win shows he's capable of 333 in the 1500m certainly in the right diamond league race, which garners 5th place or some such.
if king will is a little off then it is 7th in that diamond league race.
i'm wondering if leer has more, if a small block of training can get him to the next level and threaten podium?
still, i'd be a really happy camper if i were the one running 351, setting a local record in europe and be looking at what $7000 or so for my next race.

John Travers absolutely killed that race - his first sub 4:00, and its a 3:55!
Though, he was in 2nd thru 1500 and 6th 109.34 later. The last 100 (109.34 in 18.17) took him about 16.6 (4:27 pace!)...
Props for getting stuck in and going to the limit!

I would like to thank you for your hard work over the years. I too cannot infer meaning from context and am thus utterly stymied when someone makes a usage mistake or a typo. Without your tireless efforts this board would likely be completely unintelligible to me.
That 1:46.27 from Gregson is notable, because his pr is 1:46 low from March of his best year, 2010, when he ran 2:17 and 3:31 low a few months later in Europe. He might be close to back. Also nice to see Ryan Martin run 1:45.8, as that is the first sign of progress from him since he turned pro--obviously, he ran 1:44 high in various duels with Charles Jock and Andrews in college.
Leer can now turn his sights to 3:33 and 3:49, both of which could happen. I like to see the D3 boys running well as professionals and he's bringing some character to the track with the stache and the beard.
