So much jealousy on this thread over Badwater. Don't dis it just because YOU couldn't finish it.

Yes, it's all shady and a bunch of bullsnot and Parvaneh Moayedi cheats. That's a well established fact. But what can be done about it!? Badwater race director needs to make a response to the claims made by those two guys and their crews. That's what I want to see.
Apart from that, anyone who happens to read this lengthy thread will understand that what PM does is shady and tainted. Her behavior will probably change a little in regard to the "races" she claims to conduct, but she'll keep cheating as long as it stays out of the media. Getting a DQ from Badwater would put her in that light. I doubt it's going to happen, though.

I can ride in a van for 40 hours. No problem.
Even more impressive:
Feb 8, 2014 100M: 29:50:20 pace is 17:59
Flat out and back course in February San Antonio temp hi 68 lo 39 that day
pace is 17:59
Badwater 135 2014: 46:06:10
'toughest' hottest race in the world
pace is 20:29
the pace is only 2:00 slower??
either the performances are outliers, the training from Feb to July paid off, or something else

You're right. Her results are surreal, but seeing as she's the RD, she's not going to DQ herself. We need to email the Badwater 135 RD. In true LRC fashion, I have not yet bothered to email him directly. I bet I'm not the only one.
Trouble is, I feel like I'm an impartial observer, why would he listen? If he has ignored the crew and runners who were THERE and SAW it, why would he care waht a person who can do math thinks?
It's sad. I'm counting on the keywords in this thread about cheating at Badwater 135 to up this thread in the google results. If Badwater 135 starts to get a lot of hits on cheating at Badwater, then, maybe, he'll consider a DQ for the integrity of the race?
Badwater 135 cheaters.
All four of these people should be interviewed extensively. There is no way her BW race results holds.
I can't imagine a scenario where somebody on that crew did suspect or witness something that makes them extremely uncomfortable right now.
That Daniel Santos-Costa seems like he is the real deal. 24 hour Keys 100, 3:30 marathoner. Seeing how he appears to be a legit runner, I would doubt he was in on the cheating (might be a bad assumption on my part) but likely has some dark secrets he might like to release. He seems to be connected to Melody somehow due to the love bird race back in Feb. Together, those would be the first two crew I would approach if I were Chris.
I would highly doubt some of these individuals are so tied to PM that they would lie and cover up for her.
Melody Cherry
Kevin Albert
Daniel Santos-Costa
Steve Holehan
Hey Chris, here is a hint. Interview PM's crew asap. Clock is ticking. Your reputation is on the line. This is not going away. You are welcome.

From her own race report, it sounds like she and Steve-o were out there alone for a while in the night when she made up all that time... the other crew members may legitimately have seen nothing. But you would have to wonder what their gut tells them. If they saw her suffering for the first 91 miles...and saw how bad she was when they left her to go grab a nap.
At the very least, Chris, Badwater 135 RD should get them on record stating their experience crewing.

http://www.akingump.com/en/lawyers-advisors/r-laurence-macon.htmlAfter all, he's also a total fraud.
When you say "fraud" you can't be referring to this, which was at the bottom of his home page, can you?:
Awards & Accolades
Set a new Guinness World Record in 2011 for completing the most marathons—113—in a single calendar year (breaking his own prior Guinness World Records of 105 marathons completed in 2008 and 106 marathons completed in 2010).
There has not been a DQ for Badwater since the two people who posed on this thread as Badwater participants were trolls. No one has contacted the BW RD with eyewitness accounts of PM cheating.
Are you calling Darren Fortney a troll? He similarly posted on his personal FB page....

Badwater is now history, so PM can't cheat anymore there.
I just read the briefing of this report for ultras and the changes aren't major. I can't see Badwater 135 changing in any major way from this point forward.

Which would explain why Chris Kostman doesn't give a rats about PM's alleged cheating and the future credibility of his race.

While I must admit, I did not read all 73 pages, no where did I read that the Badwater 135 or the ultra marathon has been canceled. I did note that they are placing some restrictions, but those restrictions were primarily to do with safety concerns and numbers of participants and vehicles. The study recommended limiting it to 100 participants. Of note also is the fact that this year's course was not the traditional course as in the past. Therefore, unless I missed something in my cursory review, my guess is that the race will indeed go on in future years but some limitations with dates, times, and elevation restrictions, full moon cycle etc. for overnight events.

I call having to change the date to not be in the summer a pretty major change...
69 pages of cheating thread. Blatant cheating. For years. Race after race. Split after split. Finish time after finish time. Eye witness account after eye witness account. Runners spanning the entire country witnessed it. And now you doubt two independent Badwater runners and their crew's accounts of more PM cheating?
Stop making me laugh. Seriously? PM is the biggest cheater since Kipp Litton. Google his name. Find the New Yorker article.
Yes, people are this messed up. PM his a chronic cheater.
Badwater 135 Cheater needs to be DQ'd. Chris Kostman, clean up your house please.
Chris Kostman, get your resume together. #spinelessninny
Nothing better than taking a short cut in the Marathon, while the race official winks at you and Happy by Pharell Williams starts playing in the background.
