Are you going through results and photos finding anomalies?
Now that's funny. lol.
If you sleuth some of these iran races on her website and check the results, I agree that just about all (all the ones I checked) the participants do not have marathonguide.com times for any races at all as someone else pointed out. Some of them are generic sounding names. The ones with more unique last names are also not found.
I did a brief check on some of the iran races in 2014. Not a single person who finished first in about 6 of the races I checked had any other marathon recorded in marathonguide.com. Possibly they only do those very low key events or ...
It would take a while to hack through all the races and cross check the other participants on marathonguide and athlinks besides PM, LM and a guy name holihan. That may provide the most interesting stuff I bet.
Yes, I am. But, like most people, I also have a full time job. I'm hoping to get some help. I've provided as much information as I can, plus some leads that have been procured from this message board. I also did a TV interview anonymously (it hasn't aired).
I wish I could go on the record, but it's not possible right now because of other concerns (I hate when people are vague but that's the reality right now).
My goal is not to "take someone down". I just feel that the integrity of these races are important if you're going to record them for world records and then solicit endorsements based on those records. For those that just run because they just love running, who cares what their actual times are. However, if you're going to make money based off of your running then it should be held to a higher standard.
LOL What? Are you in the witness protection program? Did they black you out and change your voice for the interview? If you are going to go after someone (that IS what you are doing), you need to do some leg work and also come out of the closet. You are throwing out some pretty big accusations against these two runners.
Well, I tried contacting someone whom I thought was channel 5... and gave information ... specifics...and heard nothing back, so I will assume that was a FAKE contact... seems maybe someone is trying to learn in advance just what amount of "dirt" there is on this RD and those iran races. And from all I've learned, heard , and seen, it seems there is more than enough to bury anyone CHEATING!!!
I will still be willing to let a real person at channel 5 know the truth!
There are enough of here in San Antonio, who have seen FAR more than "opinion" and no one looks more foolish than a CHEATER that gets caught!!!
The contact is absolutely real. Here's his bio:
http://www.kens5.com/story/about-us/team-bios/2011/12/20/joe-conger/10416277/
I've emailed back and forth with him several times, don't be discouraged, I'm sure he gets tons of email every day.
If you haven't received a reply, I would simply email him again. As of this morning, he was still looking into this.
OK, I can be as patient as necessary...because, what I know for FACT is absolute TRUTH and TRUTH NEVER changes!!! And, CHEATING is ALWAYS WRONG!!! One either has integrity and character or they don't... And anyone cheating for whatever reason, & especially personal gain, needs to be exposed for the vermin they are!
I totally follow about those "ghost" runners listed in those results that no one ever saw!!! How is it that all of those races seem always have 10 finishers? I have also learned that there were runners that have seen the race director leave the course without finishing the race, get in her car, and drive off. Also, is it true that someone actually hid a game camera on the course to record everyone running starting the night before a race and took it down the next day after the last finisher came in? I also learned that there was someone at one of the races asking a lot of questions I heard he ran then but never ran another...was he just checking things out?
I think if someone is race director and is never seen running the entire course they shouldn't be able to just have a friend or family member sign saying they ran...there need to be someting objective; without that I don't feel can prove she ran any of her races and how can anyone ever believe her until she starts wearing a GPS and posting it publicly. Anyone that has been there (and I can guarantee there are a number of us) know the truth. And, just like the other guy said: "TRUTH" is always truth...
My name is Steve Holehan and I have known and run with Parvaneh for several years.
Jason E. Reichenberg is the name of Concerned San Antonion. I also know the names of a many of the other "anonymous" posters but I'll leave them alone since only Jason will be named in the defamation lawsuit. The question that I have for Jason is, Are you representing the Elks Lodge with your accusations?
I can attest to the fact that Parvaneh's finish times in her races are valid. She has run marathons for 15 years. She trained and improved her times by running at least 16 miles a day for several years. Her marathon time improved from 4:20s to consistent sub 4s. She has BQ'd numerous times. Since she started running 100 mile and 24/48 hour races her marathon times have suffered. Check Marathonguide or Athlinks to see how her times and distances have trended over the years. Her long term goal was to train to finish the Badwater 135 mile Ultra which she completed last summer.
Anyone who can finish Badwater has earned the right to be critical. All the naysayers can suck 125F sandy desert air or come out to Lone Pine in two weeks to witness her second finish.
The Elks races don't count for Guinness records. Parvaneh's Guinness records are already completed.
The truth about Jason hiding behind the anonymity of "Concerned San Antonion" (ant onion?) and probably a few other avatars posting here is that he is upset because he thought that the Elks Lodge would get thousands of runners in the 5K and make bundles of money. In fact they only got 35 or so runners.
Runners and volunteers who run Parvaneh's races can testify that the Elks Lodge, through Jason Reichenberg, contacted her in early 2014 to ask her to help with the races and partner with her. She donated her time, effort and knowledge into helping the lodge to support the Flag Day Event. Last year she put on 3 days Father's Day events that she gave up in 2014 to support the Elks, a group that she thought was honest and forthright. She advised the Lodge, but her advice was ignored and the Lodge lost money. Jason then tried to get her to pay for some of the $4,000 in losses. There was no contract with the Lodge and therefore Moayedi was not obligated to cover their losses and told him so. Two weeks later this "anonymous" man has nothing better to do than talk badly about her rather than taking responsibility for his poor business decisions. This guy isn't even a marathon runner and doesn't have the guts to say who he is.
Just As Some Organizers Never blame others for their mistakes, instead Mister Anonymous Troll Elk makes up lies and hides behind the internet because he can't reconcile the fact that he screwed up. He is cruel and mean, but most damaging is that Jason reflects poorly on the attributes of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elk's Lodge. When I travel and see their lodges around the country now all I can think about is what this person is doing. I wonder if all Elks are as evil as this person?
Parvaneh's races are not designed for elite runners looking for big crowds and cash awards. She encourages runners who go from couch to 5k to half to marathon and beyond. She doesn't put pressure on runners to finish within a time constraint. She stays at the race until the last runner is done. After having run many races where the post race amenities are consumed before even the 4:30 finishers come home she came up with the motto "No Runner Left Behind".
Since becoming a race director Parvaneh has been attacked by prejudiced persons hanging homemade routered wooden signs on trees on the course and painting slurs on the sidewalks (reported to San Antonio police), fake facebook posters and now this anonymous buffoon. Be a man, accept your mistakes, come out from behind the curtain and get a life. Are your friends and family proud of you, Jason?
Larry Macon is loved and admired by thousands of runners worldwide. He is an inspiration for all runners. San Antonio is proud to have 2 Guinness book of world record holders in running!
If you can't literally run in someone else's shoes then you have no right to criticize their times and their accomplishments.
Parvaneh and Larry run marathons every single weekend. I challenge any of you to show the endurance that these two Masters Athletes possess and follow them.
What say you, Concerned San Antonioan? Is this true?

Most people here have no dog in this fight. They didn't post anything about anyone in particular. Certainly nothing defamatory. They just posted things like 6-hour marathons are kindof lame and hobby-joggerish.
Is the above poster going to sue everyone on LRC that thinks ultra-marathons and super-slow multiple marathons are lame? I'd like to see that list of defendants. You'd fill a novel.
True DAT! I saw an article in RT about guys running four 100 Milers, I just dont understand that mentality. Just go for a nice hike and enjoy yourself.
Steve -
Have you talked with Joe Conger?
A couple years back, there was a nearby small marathon. There was a hill near the finish, where there was a blind spot. I put on a shirt that resembled the guy who was leading the race, and only ran the last 4.5 miles. Needless to say, there was a little confusion, but I got my sweet cash prize.
I would like to hear how he ran two marathons at the same time 1000 miles apartsame here. How did he do this?

The 2010 San Antonio Marathon 5K time of 17:10 is unbelievable. I spent 10 seconds searching and found that the first mile of the 2010 San Antonio marathon was interrupted by a train. The timing company estimated first 5K times for those waves that were delayed and the race start was delayed for later waves. Parvaneh's 3:54 finishing time is reasonable. The marathonguide times for her 21 2010 marathons average about 4 hours with eight sub 4s and nine BQs.

Well, if runbigfoot/Steve Holehan is correct about the "defamation lawsuit" then perhaps you'd better get together with Concerned SanAntonian and help him out, otherwise you're just going to come across as another blow hard.

Given the vast number of Bucket-List Runners (BLRs) who try to BQ or acquire other notches on their belts, I'd bet that cheating occurs. In league tennis, sandbagging (playing below level) is endemic--and pathetic.
There's a news video on her website about training without injuring yourself. However her diagnosis was a fractured foot and she ran the Austin Marathon anyway.
