Jason E. Reichenberg is the name of Concerned San Antonion. I also know the names of a many of the other "anonymous" posters but I'll leave them alone since only Jason will be named in the defamation lawsuit. The question that I have for Jason is, Are you representing the Elks Lodge with your accusations?
I can attest to the fact that Parvaneh's finish times in her races are valid. She has run marathons for 15 years. She trained and improved her times by running at least 16 miles a day for several years. Her marathon time improved from 4:20s to consistent sub 4s. She has BQ'd numerous times. Since she started running 100 mile and 24/48 hour races her marathon times have suffered. Check Marathonguide or Athlinks to see how her times and distances have trended over the years. Her long term goal was to train to finish the Badwater 135 mile Ultra which she completed last summer.
Anyone who can finish Badwater has earned the right to be critical. All the naysayers can suck 125F sandy desert air or come out to Lone Pine in two weeks to witness her second finish.
The Elks races don't count for Guinness records. Parvaneh's Guinness records are already completed.
The truth about Jason hiding behind the anonymity of "Concerned San Antonion" (ant onion?) and probably a few other avatars posting here is that he is upset because he thought that the Elks Lodge would get thousands of runners in the 5K and make bundles of money. In fact they only got 35 or so runners.
Runners and volunteers who run Parvaneh's races can testify that the Elks Lodge, through Jason Reichenberg, contacted her in early 2014 to ask her to help with the races and partner with her. She donated her time, effort and knowledge into helping the lodge to support the Flag Day Event. Last year she put on 3 days Father's Day events that she gave up in 2014 to support the Elks, a group that she thought was honest and forthright. She advised the Lodge, but her advice was ignored and the Lodge lost money. Jason then tried to get her to pay for some of the $4,000 in losses. There was no contract with the Lodge and therefore Moayedi was not obligated to cover their losses and told him so. Two weeks later this "anonymous" man has nothing better to do than talk badly about her rather than taking responsibility for his poor business decisions. This guy isn't even a marathon runner and doesn't have the guts to say who he is.
Just As Some Organizers Never blame others for their mistakes, instead Mister Anonymous Troll Elk makes up lies and hides behind the internet because he can't reconcile the fact that he screwed up. He is cruel and mean, but most damaging is that Jason reflects poorly on the attributes of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elk's Lodge. When I travel and see their lodges around the country now all I can think about is what this person is doing. I wonder if all Elks are as evil as this person?
Parvaneh's races are not designed for elite runners looking for big crowds and cash awards. She encourages runners who go from couch to 5k to half to marathon and beyond. She doesn't put pressure on runners to finish within a time constraint. She stays at the race until the last runner is done. After having run many races where the post race amenities are consumed before even the 4:30 finishers come home she came up with the motto "No Runner Left Behind".
Since becoming a race director Parvaneh has been attacked by prejudiced persons hanging homemade routered wooden signs on trees on the course and painting slurs on the sidewalks (reported to San Antonio police), fake facebook posters and now this anonymous buffoon. Be a man, accept your mistakes, come out from behind the curtain and get a life. Are your friends and family proud of you, Jason?
Larry Macon is loved and admired by thousands of runners worldwide. He is an inspiration for all runners. San Antonio is proud to have 2 Guinness book of world record holders in running!
If you can't literally run in someone else's shoes then you have no right to criticize their times and their accomplishments.
Parvaneh and Larry run marathons every single weekend. I challenge any of you to show the endurance that these two Masters Athletes possess and follow them.
