How about countdown until Larry Macon owns up to cheating? (and it could be in a multitude of sinful areas, not just marathoning.)
How about countdown until Larry Macon owns up to cheating? (and it could be in a multitude of sinful areas, not just marathoning.)
It depends on the country - I think the Aussies had higher results. I don't have a personal dog in this fight either... but I hate cheaters. Every time I fight through mile 23, I hate cheaters.
And I want this thread to be #1.
I want her to lose her fake world record.
I want her to lose her sponsors who signed on to support her in good faith that she really did earn her weird word record.
I want innocent runners to know not to waste money signing up for her fake races.
I'd love to see a Badwater DQ, but its not going to happen.
And finally, just like Kippy, I want to know WHY! I want her to come forward, confess, and say why.
I'm fascinated by the strange things people do and this is up there with very, very strange.

Lovable laughing Larry likes that line.

That was me.
Are you serious? Guiness what, world record? 6+ hour marathon?
Who even cares about this shit? Guiness world records are no real records. Most of them are complete shit. Want a record? Just think about some stupid thing no one did before and do it and youll have your record. And 6+ hr marathon. Anyone can walk a marathon. So who cares.
Somebloke, if that was you who did reply on that blog post, that is pretty awesome. I'm surprised the author actually published it.
I want someone in the San Antonio area to go one of Parvaneh Moayedi's races and mention this thread and video tape the entire conversation. I think it would be funny to see her face when she gets called out for cheating.
Great news, PM is back in shape and speeding along!
33:27:12 for a 100 miler last week.

Maybe those 8 hr marathons she was putting up a few weeks prior were just "100 miler goal pace" workouts.
I wonder if she's trying for Badwater again? ;)
of course, the day before she started her 100miler, she ran a marathon.
It looks like it took her a little longer than her 100miler pace to finish the 26.2, coming in at over 10 hrs.
11 Moayedi Parvaneh F 51 10:12:26

But, maybe she was just tapering for the 100!
Seriously, there is a a psychology study here. Who is nutty enough to post this illogical junk on a website with a straight face.
I don't get it... but I'm fascinated.
Don't make fun of her 33 hour 100. It's better than the girl who somehow managed to "run" it in 60 hours flat...
Or the guy who "ran" the 100k in 56 hours.
She's not getting into Badwater again.
Sorry, but I even question her ability to throw down a 33 hr hundo. If it's one of her races I would pretty much bet the house she ended up a few cards shy of a full deck on the lap count.
There is zero accountability on her part. That has been proven. She does not care if she cheats to get her fame or records.
During a multiple day event with no chip timing or anyone counting laps as a course marshall, you can sure as hell bet she right cheated.
Steve, you you enjoy being a part of this yet?
Sadly these magnificent achievements are a thing of the past, unless lovable laughing Larry can step into the breach.
When you're a rich rich guy like cheater Larry Macon who's Guinness World Records were gotten by a cheating conspiracy and money, there can't be legit world records. Just look at his results now that everyone is on to him. He doesn't have the BIG year numbers and is barely making it through the series marathons. People out there at The Riverboat Series just need to watch him to see how this guy had to have people lying for him. Each race should get a banner that says Larry Macon is THE BIG Cheater - maybe is is going after some reality TV deal. How to cheat while really trying.
There is no mean comment on Doug's blog. Anyone who feels anything but ridicule for the Larry Macon Cheater Man hasn't done a marathon.
Who doesn't know know how much Larry Macon cheats? The joke going around California this year is
Question: how many virtual marathons has Larry Macon "run"
-Answer: as many as Larry Macon can afford.
Several of his results at Charlie Alewine races were checked out by people being on the course for 24 hours waiting to see him. One guy watched Larry leave and followed him to the airport on a Sun -then Larry Macon had a result posted for Monday's race. Amazing how Larry drives to the rental car return and can still be at a Charlie Alewine race the next day. Money - money - money got him the fake Guinness a World Records for most marathons. It wasn't his legs unless there's a category for most marathons run without ever touching the course. That would be a legit record for Larry Macon.
I don't know about mean... but there's one comment there that still stands. That one is mine.
Hi PM. How you doing today? Can you get doms from ... walking?
This article says this guy owns the Guiness WR for most marathons in a year - 239. Pretty good for a guy pushing 70.

Apparently Larry Macon was recognized by Guinness for 4
previous World Records, was the Marathon Maniacs Maniac of the Year for 7 or 8 years and has run marathons in all 50 states 19 times according to the 50 States Marathon Club.
Not bad for someone that a few people on this Forum call a cheater.

Bill Macon everybody!
How is your brother Larry these days?
Larry Macon, Parvaneh Moayedi and others have been exposed as cheats. Deal with it.

It's more than a few. MANY people on this thread believe he's a fraud, and word on crap like this spreads fast when you promote yourself the way he does. Larry has remained largely unscathed until the past few pages of this thread but the momentum against him seems to be building. Goading us is probably not a good strategy.
I wish everyone possible would write Guinness to expose Larry Macon for the cheater he is. He's paid off so many people to get his "results" added by sending them to the race directors. Parvaneh and Charlie both KNOW this is what he's done and look the other way for the cash. He avoids races where you actually have to show up. This weekend anyone in California or Texas be on the lookout for the phantom Larry Macon and then check the results because he'll surely have a "time." Anyone who does Charlie's races, I challenge you to check out the results clipboard that Charlie keeps for every race. Larry Macon's time either won't be there on most of the races he claims he does or the time won't match his "official" time that ends up on the results site because Charlie while he's got to be involved, can't know what Larry's coming up with until after the race is done. Larry himself emailed a lady friend of mine claiming he was at one of Charlie's races recently without knowing we'd checked that he was in San Antonio in his office. Phantom Larry Macon, the Guinness World Record Marathon Holder - like a pig flies.
Larry Macon is the master of spin and self promotion. I met some woman he hired as a publicist for PR exposure when I ran a series in San Antonio when he got one of his "records." He had TV news coverage lined up and all kinds of interviews and statements issued to the press. The ego is bigger than Dallas which ironically is where he grew up. Is he stupid to not know people are seeing through the fake loud laugh and the same old message of look at me - I have records and wear my "big" numbers on my chest. Hey ladies, wonder what's not big? Is this compensation for inadequate anatomy?
It's only good if the 239 marathons were actually completed on the days Larry Macon claims. Do you not get the point of this blog - Larry Macon is being accused of CHEATING because people don't EVER see him at some of the races he listed. He now won't publish his list so we have to check each week. He's still getting caught and his totals are not rising like they did for several years. Figure this is because he's trying to lay low
