That would be a fail. F. She bit off more than she could handle once again. But couldn't cheat being the pacer and all. Had she not had to display that pacer sign so proudly I bet she could have cut a few corners and pulled out a 5:25 and change. Oops, no change for PM.....she would have landed a 5:25:00.

Wow, I can't believe how hard she must have worked to get that 5:30:45. What sad looking at the pictures of her from RnR SA she has gained a TON of weight since last I checked in on her at this thread. she was never slender, but now she doesn't look like she's running at all. Even walking 26 miles you'd think you'd keep some weight off.

So if you can't prove she cheated, in typical LR fashion, people attack her personal appearance.

What's crazy is that the registration fees for these "races" (that only include a handful of participants) are anywhere from $45 - $75 depending on which race you run. Are these people really paying this?

Well, I was accepted as an elite and got my entry comped since my PR is a 4:03 marathon.

I was also accepted as an elite into this series as a paced a marathon once....the 4:30 group...and finished in 4:29:30. Impressive I know.

We may not be the fastest. That's not what most of us are about. Why can't you just be happy for those of us that enjoy the sport for what it is?

Did you the first half in true PM style and go out in 2:11?

I totally blew up my group. But then showed them my true talent, ultra-power-walking.

I want to break a new record, "the world's slowest pace group" Thinking of trying to find a marathon that accepts 7:30 finishes. Anyone know of any races where 7:30's are allowed?

By the way, I am first in line for the 7:30 pace group leader. So back off. LOL!

"finished my 660th marathon / ultra life time on 16th year anniversary of San Antonio marathon. 16 years ago I ran my first race ever in San Antonio in training for Houston Marathon which ended up being my 3rd marathon! San Antonio is special race for me since I get to see a lot of local running friends and family.

I was happy to be pace 5:30 the pack and help few people accomplish their goal which is most rewarding.

I enjoyed chatting with my friends standing in corral and waiting, running and getting hugs from all my friends during the race and finish line area..."

So: between her first hand account and the splits on a prior post..... while pacing: she stopped for hugs on course, ran too fast the first half, slowed down too much the 2nd, then sped up at 24, but still missed her time goal, coming in 45 secs after the target rather than 30 secs before.

Fail.

That is what happens when a 6:43 marathoner thinks they can pace the 5:30 group. Fail is right.

Are these racing organizations actually legit, tax paying legal entities? So if 10 runners pay a $75 entry fee just to walk 7-9 hours is someone actually claiming and reporting $750 in business revenue? How about paying and reporting income tax for the owner/employees?

I don't see I Ran Marathons anywhere on the official legal entity sites for the State of Texas.

Maybe I not looking in the right place?
