For those of you complaining - if she'd been injured or using this race as a rust buster would you be as angry? If your issue is an athlete not in shape to compete for the win toeing the line at a national chap meet, then Montano is not the first nor the last to do so.
If your issue is purely that she wasn't in shape to compete for the win due to her pregnancy... I'm not aware of any USATF rule stating preggo athletes cannot compete in meets.
Clearly, her uterus did not fall out mid-race I'll assume you're not concerned about that 1950's lore.
Goucher and Radcliffe ran a half together pregnant and still beat a ton of folks in the field. Don't know of anyone who had a problem with that. Sure, there are limited spots on the track, but it's not like she's squeaking into the field barely meeting the standard, or is some no name with a sympathy seed. She's got the credentials, and she earned the spot. She ran the race and didn't advance. Lots of other folks didn't either. Thats the point of the race. Next.
