My thoughts exactly. She is running it, but very slow?

A moment she will be able to share with her child for life. Agree to disagree.
"Look at me! Look at me! Look at me!"
Lame.
Well said, George. Plus - these are the heats not even the semis. She knew she'd never even come close to advancing, but she ran it anyway and the crowd loved it.

Your take on this is lame. You need to lighten up.
It was entertaining and will bring much needed attention to track and field. Look for a link on cnn tomorrow.
Not amusing, sorry.
This is the type of crap that belongs on Twitter or Instagram. Not at a track meet.
For those of us not watching right now, can one of you actually explain what you're talking about? What did Montano do?

She's 7 and a half months pregnant and she raced. She finished with a time of 2:32.
Great job Montano! Great moment for you and baby. I'm not sure why the OP and other trolls are so upset. She's a qualifier running in the spot she EARNED.
All I'm thinking is: Damn, I could beat a woman in her third trimester. Oh well. Sigh.

she ran 2:32! she's not competitive. By being all like "look at me look at me" she's costing an athlete a spot who actually deserves to compete. Some pregnant chick shouldn't be competing. I have no respect for Montano and definitely didn't gain any today

This other athlete you speak of did not earn the spot. She would merely be an alternate. Alysia DID earn the spot, and she's running in the spot that she EARNED. I see no problem.
That is not stealing a spot. She earned it, then ran her best. Stealing a spot would be declaring then deciding to DNS to save yourself for an other event or something like that.

I disagree- it was selfless and inspiring! She shows other pregnant mothers what's possible. She just inspired more people than the 33rd seed would have.
