This is the real problem. Track meets generally speaking Hayward of Hornet are just flat out boring. Too much downtime, terrible announcers, crap/expensive food...just not worth attending.
Where are the promotions like dollar beer night, in-stadium gambling, live music between heats, etc? It's like the organizers want the sport to die!
The OP is Sacramento arguing it's a better track town than Eugene. By venue, attendance and most views on this board that just isn't the case. And when you start arguing about something else (boring track meets and then even mention that a well attended and successful meet in Eugene for the NCAAs continues to try new things to better the experience for fans and lump it in with Sac), you have obviously lost the argument.
The comparison is which is a better track town. Don't change the subject to the "poor state of track and field."
