based on whatever you want but cite it when you choose. One sentence answer only.
e.g.
"team Alexa because she isn't coached by al sal."

Neither, because both are very talented girls and I'd like to see both succeed.
Team Alexa eventhough she beat Baxter (my favorite) at NXN, because she is an athlete and has much more potential than Cain who is fast bit over hyped, and has sadly peaked and I will be shocked if she runs any faster during her career.
Team Alexa, because as nice as Mary is she has every possible advantage in life and that's annoying, Alexa is more relate-able.
Alexa
Toot Toot!

+1. Perhaps some day they will be rivals, but for now they have the common goal of making it the very highest level of elite running, and both still have a ways to go to get there.
If they're both running well next outdoor season you could see them both being contenders to make the US team at 1500m, but even then they'll only be worried about each other as one among several competitors for spots on the team.
Different story when/if they become the top 2 contenders for US senior championships. [I'm pretty sure they both see this year's Junior Nationals and Junior Worlds as a stepping stone rather than a major career goal.]
And no, I don't think Cain has been ducking Efraimson so far this outdoor season. My opinion will change if Cain actually runs the 3000m instead of the 1500m at Junior Nationals, but I'll surprised if that happens.

Team America -- I want them both to succeed because I love seeing real Americans run well.

Team Mary, because I like seeing exceptional athletes perform, and as far as HS girls go, she is the best present.
Team Alexa!!!!!!
Best wishes for the both of them, though. They'd both absolutely smoke me.
If I'm being more rational, yes, I agree with you. It'd be very frustrating if Mary actually didn't race her at JR Nationals.
Do people still think Alexa's better at the long stuff (her NXN win)?
Both, you waste of space. Get a life.
Team Annie.
Team Alexa because I find her more attractive than Mary.
Team Mary because I can spell and pronounce her last name.
Uh. I guess I'm on Team Alexa, seeing as she's local (though I guess Cain will be soon) and she is being trained by a local (as in not big-name/world-renowned) coach.
Of course, I'll root for both when possible, though.

I think (though could be wrong) that that had more to do with terrain rather than distance (re: Cain has more of a track-efficient stride). I do think Efraimson would be more competitive with Cain at 5k than 800m, though.

I hear ya. I hope Alexa ends up being a distance specialist and Cain a mid-distance one (a la Webb and Ritz, who I will always compare every classic HS rivalry with).
team Mary cause I prefer to be on the team with the most talent. Alexa's season has probably peaked. Mary's is just getting started. it will be difficult for Alexa to ever match Mary when she's on form. both exceptionally talented, one just a bit more than the other.
Alexa because she has great form.
