I find it interesting when many americans yell and scream DRUGS when an athlete appears to come from nowhere to the truly elite. Paula and KK are typical examples. I contend that is because americans think that you can race every weekend (like idiot college coaches) and still improve. I think that an athlete needs to pick 5-7 races a year and train properly for them. I think that in order to develop as a collegian that same number should be held to. That means 3 races in cross followed by 3 races during indoor followed by 3 races in outdoor is too much and 98% of the collegians are racing far more than that. Americans have a hard time training and not racing.
