IS THIS FOR REAL? If so...wow!
I confess that I find it hard to believe that someone would give up a good education for one at Oregon, but strange things happen...
It is for real. She didn't want to wait around for a month or so as they decided who the new coach would be, They are still interviewing people now as far as I understand.
She's not on the Oregon roster. I doubt it is true.

Why do you say that?
Harvard announced their incoming classes for the fall.
Out of the 10 recruited women, 8 are middle or long distance runners. I guess they are really trying to strengthen their distance program, but it is still amazing there were no recruited sprinters or hurdles (even though they now have a strong sprinting/hurdling program).
The men have 14 recruits, but it seems to be slightly more in favor of the sprinters/hurdlers than the distance or field mindset.

Penn is drastically underrated. They return their entire top 5 from last year and they bring in sub 9 runner Ross Wilson. They also have the steeple champ from Heps, Brendan Smith. With Tommy Awad and few other solid young guns they could contend for Heps title.
agreed.. they have all of those guys plus brendan shearn who was at world juniors for the 10k
Flotrack is proclaiming Columbia men as #28 in their pre-season prediction listing.

Sorry for the previous double post. My page froze while it was posting, so I hit it twice.
Anywho, Harvard lost their assistant distance coaches because Priscilla Bayley has accepted a position at UC Poly (her husband, Tim, I believe was more of a volunteer coach but he helped with some pacing duties last winter for Korolev and Leakos...)
icing is different than I sing
MAN a lot of Ivy teams are playing their recruiting classes "close to the vest"! I started checking the various schools' sports websites, to see whether any more teams have announced their newcomers, but got frustrated and quit.
After the Cornell men got a couple of "studs" stolen in late-summer last year, I suppose I can understand their reticence this year. Is this pretty much true of all the teams now? (Excepting, of course, the ones that have already announced?)
-------------------------
Different topic: When do Ivy xc practices begin? Or have they already?
Flotrack didn't even include 9:02/4:09 4xMile Anchor Indoors Tommy Rooney of CBA in Columbia recruiting class
Waverly Neer transferred to Oregon.
--------------------------------------"-
Any other xfers or eligibility remaining grads? I know Kelly of Harvard is now at UVa-w.
You should have stayed with it! Yale's announcement:

The stats for their potential xc guys are below. (Looks like they also brought in some t&f folks, but not enough. I sympathize with the Elis: they seem to be in a very tough institutional situation.) By the way, Penn recruited with outstanding success in the other track and field disciplines--both sexes.
Aaand the official announcement of Courtney Jaworski as Dartmouth's new women's xc coach:
This was announced in the spring, but I figure it belongs in the xc thread, too.
But I have no idea when Ivy teams start practicing in cross.
If you go onto the Roster for Cornell, I believe it is updated for XC and track. Just no official announcement yet.
