By Sydney Maree, no less... Ches is the real deal. 4 NCAA titles, 5000m runner up and also under the meet record, all as a true freshman? Insane. Lalang is a 13:00 5000m/3:33 1500m guy. Hardly a hole in anyone's armor...

Failed math?

It looks like we have found a chink in Cheserek's armor.
If the pace is fast, he is vulnerable, as we saw in the pac 12 1500.
Good run by both Lawi & Edward. Both under the old NCAA championship record.
Um no, stop smoking crack. There is no chink is his armour, there is just a man named Lawi who when fit is better than ches. 3:33 and 13:00 last year is no joke.
No.
Edward beat him indoors off of a slow pace.
Edward has blown everyone away off of a slow pace.
When the pace is fast or moderate, he isn't able to kick as hard, and thus, he is more vulnerable.

Isn't that the chink in everyone's armor? No one has a good kick when they run close to their PR ability.
I did. Do you run?

It was a 35 year old record.
Which means 35 years of mostly tactical races, not 35 years of nobody who can go sub-13:20. Big deal.

I didn't say close to their PR, just fast.
It doesn't have to be fast from the gun. A fast last mile could do the trick.
I'm a Duck fan, but Lalang deserved to win this one. However, if Cheseret had waited another 50 meters to kick, and didn't keep looking around the last 200, he would have won.
Totally incredible. The guy next to me just said, "One of the best races I've ever seen!!!"
Lawi pushed and pushed. Ches came by at 250 and surely it was over. But no.
Just like Sam Chelanga in 2011!! The one time dominant man ends his NCAA career with a stirring victory.

Bad Wigins being contrarian again? Yawn. Get a new shtick, bro.
That was weird. Plus all the fidgeting Ches does with his uniform throughout a race. But it goes to show just how much upside he has by doing these performances despite these bad habits. They are habits that are easily correctable with more training.

Again stop smoking crack. Everyone knows Lalang wasn't at his best indoors. When Lalang is fit he can do huge things.
And are you captain obvious? When the pace is fast he can't kick as hard? Nobody can kick as hard when the pace is faster than slow. That's how running works....
You have to admit that Lalang showed great strength in leading the entire race with Cheserek drafting the whole time. It's a lot of pressure to lead an entire 5K with your biggest competition sitting right behind you. Usually, if two runners are evenly matched, the drafter has the advantage. Great race by both, though.

That 25 year old record was almost as old as grampa ches was in junior high.

Was everyone else not at their best either?
In slow races, Edward has destroyed everyone in a kick.
Off of a faster pace, he has not been as dominant.
Sorry this is hard for you to understand.
Don't worry, they'll get grandpa back on the proper dosages.
Lawi just became one of my all-time favorite runners, and that goes back four decades. Not just talent, but brains and guts. He's got it all, in spades.

You're a retard. He's not failing at understanding you. He's telling you that everyone has the same chink so it's dumb to even point it out. The faster you run, the slower your kick will be. If you run fast enough, you will not have a kick at all. Learn to read.
I think people just object to the suggestion that he is vulnerable simply because he lost that amazing race. He still ran fast and kicked hard two days after that brilliant 10,000.
He appears to be on a fast track to the very upper echelon.

Nobody else was a 3:33/13:00 guy. Wake up. Sorry it's hard for you to understand that you're clueless. It was well known lawi was off his game indoors. Off a faster pace he has only lost to one guy, and was just as dominant leaving everyone other than Lawi in the dust. A fit lawi can kick with ches in a slow race too.

Some people have trouble kicking off of a fast pace.
Others do not.
Sorry this is hard for you to understand.
