any particular reason for getting fired?
any particular reason for getting fired?
I would rather not comment on that, but a few have given some reasonable notions on page 1 of this.
so when are they going to announce it?????????
We talked to Mason Ferlic about the rumor today after his steeplechase prelim:
A college kid makes the NCAA final after narrowly missing last year...he's thrilled and looking forward to the final, and you ask him about his coach possibly being fired? And when he responds that as far as he knows it's just message board rumors, you respond that you've heard it from other coaches? You must be proud. Congratulations on your hard-hitting journalism.
Pretty embarrassing to be honest
This is the sh*t i hate about lets run. Did you really ask the kid about his coach getting fired right after his prelim? It has nothing to do with NCAAs or him making finals of the SC. Y'all are a-holes
I like that Letsrun asks these questions. They're talking to adults, not high school kids, they should be able to answer anything that comes their way.
It's one thing to ask if he has heard any of the rumors and leave it at that. It's another thing to keep prying at the poor guy on probably one of the happiest nights of his life and say to him "Well, I've heard it from several other coaches." Let him concentrate on his race and stop instigating.
I hear Joe Lynn is available...
Sure, the media would never ask a similar question to a college football player or basketball player after a big game. Of course they would.
What an unprofessional thing to ask the kid. He qualifies for an NCAA Final and you ask something that he has NOTHING to do with??
It's one thing if there was some big scandal or players were involved in violations (there's not and there aren't), but for a kid who's just running for his school and the man who helped get him there, this is not fair.
Shame on you.
PS, as an inside source myself, I can say I've heard nothing official and there's reason not to trust the whole anti-Gibby crew who can be just as immature as you accuse him to be.
Bunch of lady boys with your panties in a bunch.
Really? You asked a kid on the team to confirm this, rather than go right to the head guy who fired him OUT there?
Also you took down this thread, to be sensitive to a possible rumor situation, then you ask a kid on the team to confirm that? While you hypocrites left a JJ Clark thread up for how long UNTIL he got fired!!
This IS WHAT THE MEDIA DOES. Props to LRC for asking questions that people want to know about. Look at every other sport. This is journalism. He's not "just a kid." He's in college, not high school. Fair question.
and indeed it may be, isn;t another more up front way to go , to ask the Head Coach directly, it is not like he is not visible out there?
""This IS WHAT THE MEDIA DOES. Props to LRC for asking questions that people want to know about. Look at every other sport. This is journalism. He's not "just a kid." He's in college, not high school. Fair question.""
Dude, he's not even 21. That question had nothing to do with his race. He is guilty of nothing, so why bring him into internet rumors?
I agree you should question athletes about issues, but not about INTERNET RUMORS. Ask the frickin coaches, both of them are there, but was it too intimidating to talk to an adult?
Joe Lynn interviewed for the job and is expected to accept. Announcement will be coming on Monday.
Asking the question was fine.I just see a slight flaw in replying "I heard it from other coaches too." If you did, just phrase the question that way.
Joe Lynn ? The Missouri suspended Coach Joe Lynn? Really? That's a questionable hire at best.
