"Thank you uh, thank you computers"
"Thank you uh, thank you computers"
"look at this. This is good stuff".
Other than the fact he actually has some track knowledge, he's a lot like Hammond in that much of his M.O. seems to be pre-scripted. He seems unable to adjust mid-race to the reality of how it's playing out.
"She looks studious with those glasses."
Same damn thing he said during the SEC broadcast.
Have mercy. Lair was tortured, beaten and almost died twice at Parris Island, South Carolina, then was spiked with Agent Orange in Vietnam.
Larry just keeps spitting out generic statement after generic statement. He's really not saying anything. Shows good arm action, has great frequency and/or stride length, shows superb top end speed (goes to whoever has the best time in the 100m), shows great countenance, keeps focused, rhythmic, shows great power, studies his/her event, has great knee lift... blah blah blah.
I doubt he could actually spell out how they are showing whatever it is he thinks he sees. He's going to say the same thing every event or two.
The other TV Ken doll said the steeple is 25 laps. Guess ole "Shalayla" will take a while.
"Shalaya Kipp is originally from Colorado."
Note: Skyline High School Alumni in Salt Lake City, UT 84109
Larry just said it's 28 barriers with 3 water jumps.
Swedish is hard? How about English, guys?
I'm sure he was referring to the Kipp that competed for Great Britain in London Olympics.
Sarcasm aside, this other guy is absolutely terrible. I'm glad Rawson is there, though he may be annoyed at having to be there correcting so much of what this other guy says.

My 1st thought when I started watching a few minutes late: "NOOOOOOOOO Larry Rawson is on. WHY GOD WHY????
My thoughts now: "Can someone in Eugene shoot him please?"
Already even worse than usual.....
Is there any wonder why USATF dropped him for Tim Hutchings? Is there any wonder why USATF has moved to NBC?
This is painful to watch. Or listen to. Or watch. Help!
Does Kithuka pronounce his name with that extra N in there?
"70.1 last 400m...so they're running a 4:44 or a bit slower"
my favorites:
"i bet edward cheserek has visions of sugar plums dancing in his head." ???
"he has a better time than Edward has run Cheserek." umm, syntax much?
The other guy was bad. Rawson seemed knowledgeable and had to refrain from making a bunch of corrections. Sure there were things that could have made it better, but it is easier said than done during live commentating.
silence..."the hurdles are two and a half feet high"...silence

I loves that one. Also: "I bet that's the pace Cheserek runs on his jogs on the Pre Trail."
Anyone catch when he said "mo ahmed is the first one to fall off the back of the bus."
Haha obviously not intentionaly racist but probably shouldn't mention back of the bus in reference to 4 africans. What a moron. Had to shake my head.
Its a train bro.
