Douglas burke, could you provide some or lots of examples
seriously? American runners, and then World?

Could Alexa compete with Cain at the 800? If so, it would be pretty interesting if she switched events to make sure they faced each other.
I think that's all anyone really wants anyways - is to see the two phenoms go head to head. Preferably in the 1500/mile, but whatever.
I hope Efraimson, Cain and Cranny all run the 1500m at US Juniors, where they can really race against each other.
If Cain and Efraimson were both in shape to run something like Cain's 1500m PR of 4:04.62, I'd be excited about seeing them in this 1500m at Icahn, not so much to see how they'd do against each other but to see how they'd do against a strong pro field.
But Cain simply isn't in that kind of shape right now, and watching her run, say, 4:10 and being off the back doesn't seem interesting to me.
Efraimson's been having a great outdoor season and it would be cool to see her run a big PR tomorrow. I'm guessing she's more focused on that than on what race Cain is running, but if she decided to drop down to the 800m because it seemed like a better fit for her right now, I don't think anyone would stop her. [Or at least I hope no one would try to stop her.]
It's too bad that Cain and Efraimson aren't both simply running the Girls "dream" Mile at Icahn, but sometimes things don't work out in what seems like the simple, obvious way.

Yes she is. If you were coaching her and responsible for her marketability, wouldn't you duck this also? If she lost to Ephraimson she'd be done and a mental mess. She is likely ducking Ephraimson. If she was in shape to win the 1500 in front of her home crowd, she would be in the race.
A mental mess? She made the World Final last year, yet losing a regular race would be an "issue" with her.
At 17, she's likely mentally stronger than you can understand.
Is cranny in the dream mile? would be funny/frustrating to see them all at the same meet in different races
