that's really cool for Josh! Does he still do high mileage singles? Only cruise intervals and tempos for workouts? anyone know what his training is like now?

4:10 is a great result! I bet Solinsky couldn't touch 4:10 right now. Maybe we'll see Josh competing later in the summer.
Wow! Tell us more insider!!!
Solinsky run 4:08 as a soph I'm pretty sure. I think he can run 4:10.
maybe Matt could join him!
Webb against Mcdougal. Who wins?

In a mile? right now Webb. In a few months if McDougal stays healthy, it might be him.
McDougal has run 3:57.46 (2007)
3:51.97 1500 metera
4th place in the slower heat
I think this is very positive. Good for Josh.
The good thing is it looked like he was competitive in his heat (4:06+ won it) and he beat a few guys who have run 3:45-7 this year. So pretty good start after not racing in what is it 4years?
Did anyone see the race? Would love to hear if he was in the race the whole way and didn't have the gear change or what the splits looked like.

Nice! That's a very good start!
how old is he?
It was a good start. And as noted, 4th in his heat. He competed well. It bodes well for his future races if he can come back after such a long layoff and run this quick. Hope to see him continue with his improvement.

6 years. I'm pretty sure Mt Sac in 2008 was his last real race, then he had a couple DNFs with the injury later that spring.
I wonder if we can get Steve Magness to comment about Josh McDougal and his training. I have no doubt that he reads these message boards. I think we would all love to know how his training is going or what he's doing exactly.

It was working yesterday. Looks like the traffic from Letsrun has crashed Josh's site.
Definitely worked yesterday for me…
Looks like his last track race was a 5k in Toronto in June, 2009. He ran 14:29. Jeez, it's been 5 years. Amazing. I really hope he can actually make a comeback and compete. He'll have to be an instant hero on LetsRun.
Hey guys,
It is Josh, sorry for the embarrassing problems with the blog.
My friend called me after the race and told me the blog was down, apparently too much traffic or something. I apologize for the issues it has been having. We really did not expect this many views and were poorly prepared. Victoria and I hope to be able to get it back up and running sometime tomorrow. We have also started working on the next post with training information as well as race reflections. Steve is more than happy with both he and I being open about all aspects of training, so I will try and give a synopsis of what we have done, and would be willing to post training plans that he sends out …… I hope many of your questions will be answered, both about my feelings towards the performance as well as training. I really want to be as transparent as possible however that does take a lot of time and energy.. Two things I do not have much of after working, training and time spent with my family. Both Victoria and I received quite a few questions via facebook inbox. I am not the greatest about responding to emails, and especially facebook, however she tends to be far better about those kinds of things. If anyone would like a question to be addressed on the blog feel free to email my wife rather than facebooking her. We will try to give as much information as possible without letting it take away from our family time in the evenings.
Nice of you to post. Very best to you.
Cool, good luck to you Josh! Proud of you, I believe in your comeback
Good to hear from you Josh! I look forward to seeing the training info and everything. Good luck with everything going forward!
