I think I'm one of about 5 people in America who is a distance running fan but not runner in my own right.
In any case, I can attest to a time in my life where I had a regular bike commute of about 10 miles each way. And I was doing a quality circuit type training workout every day on top of that. I was eating healthy as well.
Not that I was trying, but I noticed I wasn't losing weight. Just out of principal that bothered me. Then I realized that for all my healthy eating, I was eating a few pieces of candy each day from a jar that someone had on their desk that I passed by all the time. It wasn't very much. I was far from being a sugar addict. But I cut that out of my diet and sure enough the weight started coming off. Problem was, the job and my bike commute ended weeks later.
The lesson I took from it is to look really close at your diet if you are looking to lose weight. I read posts of people saying they are not losing weight, yet just sort of gloss over that they are eating healthy. I kind of roll my eyes at that.
