I find that when I am putting in the high mileage my metabolism works in overdrive.
No definitely not obese, but have only once got within 10lbs of a truly lean racing weight. Currently 5'8" 155 coming off a 20 month injury.
Don't take that to mean I eat 5000kcal every day. Although I could if I wanted to/didn't check myself.
Most mileage I have ever put in was averaging just under 70mpw during 2012, maybe closer to 80 in the summer. 120 might cause something different to happen, but knowing me I would just be hungrier and eat a ton more food.
