Rather than see a professional, I'll start with the diagnosis of strangers on a message board.
I've run for 20+ years and have been taking glucosamine for achy knees. This has helped with most of the pain but my knees frequently pop or "click" when I straigten my leg when I'm sitting or laying down.
Is this serious? Cartilage problem? Any input is appreciated.
Who's knees are more knoisy, Ritz or Webb?

I've been running for 23 years and mine have been making "noises" for some time now.I also take the glucosamine/chondroitin supplements,and try to work on strengthening my quads as much as possible(isometrically). Also, try to keep on grass or trails as much as possible, and don't run in wornout shoes...replace after 500-600mi max. Good Luck

My knees and ankles do this as well. A chiropractor bud of mine says this is called a "release" and that it's harmless.
