Agip, how many people in NYC would boycott a NY Giants-Seattle Seahawks game because some linemen and maybe others have been taking steroids?

Interesting point.

zero, no doubt.
but
How many NY Giants-Seatle Seahawks fans play football 6 days per week, compete regularly until they can barely walk and happen to believe their sport is as much a guide to how to live correctly as it is a sport?
How many Giants Seahawks fans support the NFL by being members of a national football organizing body?
How many giants/seahawks players represent their nation in global competition?
I could go on.
I believe track is self evidently exceptional and has higher standards than football. Why don't you?
Speak it, brother! Think I'm gonna frame this up on my wall

I can't wait for this race, it's gonna be a great match up.
I agree. I gotta give it to the promoters on this one. The doper men's 100.
The meets used to not invite dopers. They athletes went to court and won. Ironically, it was Lausanne that 3 years ago lost a court against for 'restraint of trade' versus Hind Dehiba.
Gatlin told me at Pre he wanted to race everyone. This is fantastic. It's tiring how the sprinters don't race each other. So Blake can run the 200 in Rome but everyone is going to pay attention to the 100.

So is every Diamond Leagues 100 or 200m race.
Gatlin, Gay, Powell, Blake, ... some got caught, the other will get caught eventually, some are too big to fail.
Yes, get real Robert.
You want a "Doper Men's 100m"?
Thompson - clean
Martina - clean
Bailey - give me a break
Bolt - LMAO
Blake - BUSTED
Gay - BUSTED
Gatlin - BUSTED
Powell - BUSTED
4/8 BUSTED, 2/8 not yet caught, 2/8 possibly clean
50% BUSTED, 75% CERTAINLY DOPED
Or how about finding some race with Gay, Gatlin, Powell, Blake, Rodgers, Mullings, Bolt...whatever.
I usually ignore all the bs about doping as they're usually annoyingly unfounded allegations against athletes that never failed a drug test. But in this case with two athletes who served time being banned, it's worth some discussion.Of all the sprinters, I've been a fan of Gay because of his intensity, and I believe integrity. From what I read, it seemed pretty likely that Gay did not know he was doping. A July AP article said:
One person familiar with the case told the AP that multiple positives over a short period of time are a sign of an athlete who wasn't trying to hide anything but simply didn't know he was taking a banned drug.
and quoted Gay:
"I basically put my trust in someone and I was let down."
That makes sense, as Gay had just come back from a long road of surgery and recovery, and was looking to be in top form for World Championships. It would have been incredibly stupid to risk wasting all that effort and losing the chance to compete. I don't think he would knowingly cheat, or would be that stupid. But somehow, annoyingly, he was careless and took something without making triple sure it was legal.
I thought I had read that it was a trainer or doctor who had given him something that was legal in the NBA, but didn't realize it wasn't in T&F. However, as I look at stories since then, there is nothing official that confirmed who that was, what the substance was, or anything else.
All I know is Gay refrained from pointing out the person and took responsibility for it like a man and took his punishment. The fact that his sentence was reduced, which is indeed allowed on a first offence, reinforces my belief that it was an unintentional mistake.
I think his punishment was more than enough. He missed out on the World Championships as an ageing sprinter. It will be extremely difficult for him to continue peak performances at his age, and be competitive for a medal in 2015 and 16. He may have missed his window.
Unless there is any solid evidence I don't know about that proves that Gay intentionally cheated, I think anyone who villifies him is being completely unfair.
Almost forgot, second part is a question. Regarding pro corporate sports closely (football/basketball/baseball/hockey), there's drug testing and doping scandals in all those sports, but somehow, it doesn't seem to be treated to be a big deal in the media. And I don't know any big sports fans who seem all that concerned about it, let alone jaded. It doesn't seem like message boards are flooded with stuff like "who cares, they're all drug cheats."
So why is it more of an issue with T&F?
well except apparently the freaking jar of crap he put on himself said 'testosterone' or the like.
and he went to an 'anti-aging' doctor. please. is he an idiot?
the best you can say about Gay is that he didn't want to know what he was putting in his body and he scrupulously didn't ask questions or read labels.
and that's the best you can say. Which isn't very good and he doesn't deserve much credit for it. People are getting busted left and right all around him and he doesn't ask any questions? For a grown man that is absurd - he had to know he was breaking rules but just didn't want to be told.
Was Tyson Gay tested during the suspension?
Was Justin Gatlin tested between 2006 and 2010?
If not, Vern Gambetta was spot on
BTW that field was an OLYMPIC FINAL.
Also, wilful blindness and recklessness are just as culpable as intention.
Also, Gay knew damn well what he was doing, and he was doing it for a long time. STOP BEING SUCH F-ING SUCKERS. ELITE SPRINTING IS A CIRCUS.
IF YOU LIKE IT, ENJOY THE SHOW--BUT DON'T MAKE ANY IGNORANT COMMENTS SUPPORTING THE IDEA THAT GAY DIDN'T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WAS GOING ON.
The cleanest sprinters right now are the French and Japanese. Everyone else is a joke.

Because it's not.
But it's blowhards like you who make others cringe at the running community.
All I see are a bunch of assumptions. Anyone have actual evidence?

You're so stupid, or you're working for Gay. My evidence is a lifetime of experience.
here's the story that said the gunk gay used was labeled 'testosterone'. honest question - is gay illiterate? Cause that would actually work for him here. http://www.propublica.org/article/cheat-sheet-the-tyson-gay-fileThe label on the cream Gay is believed to have used starkly says “Testosterone/DHEA Crème,” and lists testosterone and DHEA among its ingredients. DHEA is a hormone converted in the body to testosterone, and both DHEA and testosterone are banned for Olympic athletes. Two other listed ingredients, IGF-1 and somatropin — another name for human growth hormone — are also forbidden.

JESUS EFFING CHRIST HE'S NOT ILLITERATE.
HE'S A LIAR AND A CHEAT.
God I hate quack chiropractors. Anti-aging specialists, ugh. Breitenmoser said he'd "have to ask his business partner, who formulates the product" when asked about the ingredients. This suggests that he rebranded the product as their own, and probably did not list all the official ingredients on the label. It appears he told Gay was that it was "organic" and "homeopathic." Bad on Gay for trusting him for sure. It was a stupid mistake, but there is no proof he knowingly cheated.
I just don't understand why all the bitter haters even bother with the boards. If you're so jaded and don't care about the sport, why are you here? Seriously. Why?

1. Gay and Gatlin have worked their but off for their country
2. They have excelled when it counted (I wish we could say the same about Rupp)
3. They spend countless hours in the weight room while Rupp wastes times with his BFF Meb Farah in die Cyrosauna.
4. They are more BUFF and more SHREDDED than any distance runner will ever be.
You do realize Rupp has a silver medal right?
you do realize his name is mo right?
I see nothing wrong with this matchup. Gatlin served his sentence and Gay gave evidence concerning what was probably unknown to him as illegal. If they test positive again, then they get a longer penalty.
