Does any body have any idea when this guy is going to race and if so where at. Has any body seen the vidoe about him or do they have any insight into the type of training he does.
thanks!!

Who's going to run a faster 2-mile this year, Ritz or Webb?
Webb is doing altitude work right now in the Rift Valley. He will next head over to Europe in the middle of January to run the 200 and 400 for turnover work. He is then going to come back to Boston and duel Bob Kennedy for the indoor American Record at 5000m.
for crying out loud, i know the whole webb thing has been over blown, but just because someone asks a legitimate question doesnt mean its open mic night at the apollo for everyone to come over and start cracking jokes about what webb is doing. So, if anyone has any info about when or where we get see webb's pro debut, please go head. People are curious.

I agree, glxl. Every time a question is asked about Webb, people have to crack jokes.
Anyhow, it seems Webb's speed training is going well since joining Marion Jones and Tim Montgomery, however, his base may be lacking.
I think it is funny how many people bash Webb. When he runs fast again all the "haters" will jump back on the wagon. A bunch of cowards hiding behind bogus names. He will run fast this year, very fast. He is one of our Olympic hopefulls and people trash him. And we wonder why Americans aren't faster? HMMMM, how bout not hating on our own athletes...just a thought!
I'm hiding behind a bogus name--unless you think I am really that much of a lady's man--but I am all for Webb kicking ass when he resumes competitive running. And yeah, I'd say he could beat Ritz in the two miles. Shows how dumb women are chasing after Ritz when he didn't get a quarter million dollar a year contract--and probably never will even when he runs fast enough to deserve it. Realize that Webb had a sensational xc season last year before he got injured. Now that he is back with his old coach, I expect he is going to make all his detractors eat crow. I'm hoping anyway.
I am not a Webb fan. In fact, I am a Michigan fan.
But I am also a track fan. And I must say I was intrigued when Alan ran his phenomenal 3:53. It was one of the most phenomenal races I have ever watched, and for that reason, I believe he will run some outstanding times this year.
He will get back and win a few races and likely run in the 3:35 range this year just purely on talent.
Unfortunately, I do not believe he will run 3:30 or faster as one might hope because I think that takes much more planning and foresight than he and his coach have currently.
I am not sure if people understand the difference between good, great, and the best, but there is an absolute canyon between each. Right now, Alan is just beyond great, but there is a long way to go before being the best. And I just believe that trying to recapture his status as the best High Schooler is no step towards becoming the best overall.
Regardless, good luck Alan. I hope you prove me wrong because lots of people told me I would never amount to anything also.
