The WR is the WR. It is the best time run and it was run by the best runner. Rupp is still more than one second per lap slower than the WR.

His 5K pace is 6.17 meters/sec. His 10K pace is 6.20 meters/sec. If you put that on a regression line, you get approximately a 1:50 marathon.
Poor Ventolin's calculator is going to blow up.
You got it! The maths indicates faster per km pace with longer distance.
Please provide names of runners who could have beaten Rupp today. Or are we back to the 'third tier Kenyan thing'

Please list all of Rupp's WRs.
He ran a crazy and suicidal race and beat the odds! kind of like trying to take an IQ test with a concussion and still getting 200
You sound like a critical thinker, but sure, I could tidy it up for you to get a better handle on.
"Stephen Sambu had a terrible race today in the 10000m at the Nike Steve "4th place" Prefontaine classic. He was paid to run the hard miles so that the meet's sponsor's top athletes could make them a few more bucks. He would've dropped out after 8k but that dudes a complete moron and lost in 4th place. What a loser!"
Does this work for those of you still "living the dream"?
The top four all had a great race. Sambu's was impressive for a guy who spends too much time on the roads and hasn't developed very well since college. Rupp is now faster than Farah. That is a pretty an impressive feat as well.

snivel v3 is ventolin 3.
Clues: V, 3, keeps talking about "maths," and no concurrent posts by the regular ventolin 3.
Vent will say it estimates Sambu at 73sec 400m speed...

Look at his time progression:
http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/kenya/stephen-sambu-245623#progressionThat really was an incredible run. Amazing.
Wow, his 5000 is slower than his 10000. I'm guessing he can run under 13:10

he is just one of the myriad of kenyan 53/54/26'40/26'50 guys - 3rd tier

Please look at the IAAF page again kids. It states his PR is 13:13 from indoors in 2012.
I concur. Just watched the video - I liked how psyched he was at the finish. It looked like he was headed for Rupp to congratulate him.

The guy who came in fourth did not have the "best race." The person who wins, especially quite handily on the last two laps, had the best race. It's amazing how often some of you folks try and pretend otherwise.
Rupp PRed by less than 4 seconds.
Sambu PRed by 34 seconds and went under 27:00 for the first time.
Taking into consideration their careers (and age, Stephen is 2 years younger than Galen) I think Sambu had the best race.
Oh! And Sambu was a pacemaker. I don't know if a designated one but he paced for the likes of Rupp and Karoki who just rode along.
if sambu runs behind rupp, and rupp sets the pace, the finishing times would be switched between them.
Sambu in its truest form is a professional running athlete. Racing pays his bills not his small shoe contract. Road racing has prize money. He does not have luxury to pick a few track races and focus on records etc.
He was asked to help pace the race but never intended to drop out.
Agreed the top 4 ran well , very well , times will up for the year.
Farah has yet to really focus on the fast time paced approach , from his interview sounds like we will get to see how fast he really is this summer.

What utter rot. There were a lot of there runners in the race. Rupp got nowhere near the WR so don't celebrate.
This type of cowardly PC thinking is hilarious. Couple that with the jealousy of Rupp that the polesuckers like this display and you realize there's no doubt these turdz will be miserable for the rest of the year, even if Rupp gets hurt and can't ever run another step.
