People are really not understanding that opener for Rupp. In the last 5 years how many times did Salazar say they were going for an AR? How many times did they fall way short?

Rupp has DNFd 50% of his Diamond League 5/10s in recent years, and DNSd the other 50%.

Are you talking about the one where Farah tripped? In 2012? That was just preparation for the 2 mile AR attempt.

There wasn't anything perfect about Rupp's 10k AR. The only thing he needed was a fast pace, which he got.

I totally agree. Tomorrow night looks to be nice and cool without much wind. The race is full of elite East African. Looks a lot like the 2011 Brussell's race to me. The comical thing was reading a news article today citing that only 3 runners have run sub 26:48 in the last 5 years. But two of those runners did it in that Brussel's race: Bekele and Rotich. Rupp of course just finished outside of 26:48 in that same race. It goes to show that a huge reason why so few go under 26:48 is that so few even try. Now they apparently are trying. Maybe that is obvious, but it seems like people are overlooking that simple fact.

Correct. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see an AR, I would just bet against it unless I had very favorable odds.

Which one was it then? I only remember one race where Rupp ever attempted the indoor mile AR, the 3:50.9
