No, she won't, because she's not an moronic douche like you

front-running a 3k in 95F heat may have had something to do with it...
I didn't say one word about her Doha race (which was a PR, btw). I asked you a simple question. Can you understand English?
I said last year that Jenny Simpson could break the 1500m AR - she just needs to be in a race where she gets pulled to that time.

Best of luck to Jenny getting the 1500 AR, but I don't think it is is possible for an athlete you can't break 2 minutes in the 800, to run 3:57 flat. When Decker set the 1500 AR, she was in 1:57x 800m shape and 8:25 3k shape. - I just don't see it happening, in fact, I don't see Jenny coming with in a minute of that record. (I would love to be proven wrong.)
Comparatively, the U.S. 5k record is soft, a sub-4 1500 meter runner with some over distance capability, can take down that record any point. No disrespect to Molly or Shalane, but that record should be in the mid 14:30s.

clearly you are a total moron
economics 101 shoud tell even stoopidest of idiots that going from a pacer to world champion at 800 woud mean end of pacing duties unless someone pays an asking price many, many times her previous fee
Caged wrote:I didn't say one word about her Doha race (which was a PR, btw)
err...
then what on earth woud you base the swede's chances over 1500 against her ???
if it was her 3'55-flat indoors of a jog to 800 & solo last 700m than the swede woud have no chance
as for running a pb, only a fool calls 8'26+ a pb when she has already run 8'16+i again off a jog to 2k & solo long way out
there is no way in hell genze or anyone with more than 1/2 a brain is likely to call her 8'26 a "pb"
I asked you a simple question. Can you understand English?
i'm not conversant in "stoopid" so we have a communication problem

great post !
i was going to post mary's stats but you beat me to it
http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/united-states/mary-slaney-61747she ran 3'57.13nr in '83 but in '85 went 1'56.90 !! & 8'25.83 !!
1'56.90 / 8'25.83 ->
2'30.0
3'55.3
4'14.3
5'23.5
she shouda smashd the 2k wr that year & probably woud still hold it as not raced much ever
if you doubt that 3'55 estimate, see this 3'57.24 from that peak year :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uq-odGn8Zi0a solo run off a suicidal 61.94 !!!
at even pace from gun-to-tape & with wabbit to bell, that was easily a 3'55 & more likely a 3'54+
( remember, her 800 & 3k that year were unlikely perfect races, so we shoud ideally use faster than 1'56.90/8'25.83 for her 1500 estimate )
seriously, for jenny to be considered best domestic 1500er ever, she really needs to go
3'54+
I don't think Jenny can get it either. Like another poster said, a 2 flat runner can't get out in 2:05-2:06 for 800 and have enough left for a 45 second final 300 to nab the record.

How does one know Jenny is "only" a 2 flat runner at this time if she ran that time mid-May last year?
Did she run any recent 800 meter runs?
She just may be a 1:59 flat or less runner right now.
It will happen in Europe set up paced race. Euro meet directors like Jenny and would love for her to run fast ! Emma is in the same boat , loved by the directors we will see that US record fall maybe a couple of times in the steeple.

You don't think she'll come within a "minute" of that record?
Her 800 times are meaningless. She doesn't run it hardly ever. Be like claiming Rudisha can't break a WR because his 400 times are too slow. Nonsense. There are totally different races.
jenny ran pretty good in eugene
she probably has slightly faster than 1'59 speed currently ( only tenth or 2 though )

Mary Decker was allegedly also a doper, though.
Thanks for posting the video of the Brussels/'85 1500. What a great field, and interesting race! Lynn Williams 4th place finish in 4:00.27 set the Canadian record, still standing, almost 30 years later!
