to............the..............GILLS
Fixed. -
So if he's on the sauce, will that force everybody else to still be on it, if they ever went off? Since it already looks like it will take a 9.7 to beat him this year, that's the only option, right? Does anybody care about these off-years?

At this point of the season, he is faster than his 2004-2005 doped to the gills version. Makes you wonder.

You would have to be almost insane to think Gatlin is doping. Besides a lifetime ban, Gatlin served the harshest penealty given out; 'he lost everything'. He cut ties with everyone associated with his old group and knows he is under a microscope...do you really think he is doping or is it just something cute to say. Gatlin will forever be known as an ex-doper, perhaps that is fair, but when someone has paid the price for their misdeeeds, they should be allowed to move on. Btw, his comeback is a pretty amazing story. -
he's doped...has to be
is he on the same sauce as the jamaicans? -
Who cares if Gatlin dopes tho? Nearly all his competitors are juiced up. The fastest clean guy on Earth right now is probably that Japanese kid who wears short pink shorts.

Oh the jealousy of the SCRAWNY runner. How about he used the time that has past since to get more JACKED/BUFF and has really worked on the SHRED since last winter?
If you look at him you see a physique that cost a lot of sweat and tears in the weight room.
He will make 'Merica proud again, without a doubt. -

tyson gay prob not too happy
he'll be back soon to join in with gatlin and the jamaicans
it looks like they busted one from each side
to keep the phoney doping war even
powell and gay -
wind is indicated as 0.0 on the IAAF results page - not sure if that's accurate.

The "Gatlin Gun".

Do you remember Ben Johnson's comeback? -

haha
Back to Gatlin, that's a 9.77 with max legal wind, in MAY.
That was a really solid 100m, IN SMOG! IN MAY! Rodgers wasn't gaining on him this time--in fact it looked like Kimmy Collins was gaining on Rodgers at the end.
Take a look at Chambers and you will see how a former doper should "come back". Chambers is now clean, and still good, although he's not going to win anything.
Gatlin, ugh. Oh well, we KNOW Powell and Gay are doped, and it's obvious that Bolt and Blake are doped, so who cares, the top X guys are all doing whatever the top X-1 guys are doing.
How about Walter Dix, now there is a guy who should do some dope! Or speed, I hear it burns fat.
p.s. concerning the smog--there are rumors that the Chinese are pumping aerosolized downers into their city atmospheres to keep the people from going nuts.
9.86 basic on downers, this guy will go 9.75 this year -
So then what is gatlin on? Who is he working with? How is he doing something that everybody else is not (except for, presumably, bolt + blake). Are bolt and blake lying low and doping up to get ready for gatlin??
What new or elusive drug is on the market? -

What's the adjustment if they pump aerosolized stimulants into the city atmosphere? I think we need a new sprint time correction factor that includes wind, altitude and atmospheric drugs. -

I don't think this is true at all. He has a lot to gain by doping. -
he will be beaten by a slew of Jamaicans who are all clean!!!! He also looks skinnier than before. Do you think he should get even more muscular in order to beat Bolt, Blake etc?? You seem to know your stuff.

+1 And if he gets caught, he isn't going to go all Tyson and admit it and fess up to retroactive stuff and give back a bunch of money. He'll deny, deny, deny, be convicted and get hit with a lifetime ban, but he'll have a bunch of money in the bank he wouldn't have otherwise and I don't see anyone being able to claw it [or his 2012 medal] back from him.
And you know what? Good for him. I don't believe he was doping any more or less than the next sprinter when he went down, I think he was taken down because he pissed people off by working with Trevor Graham after being pressured not to. And Trevor Graham didn't become radioactive because he doped his athletes [which he did], he became radioactive because he started the whole Balco thing rolling with that anonymous syringe.
The whole system stinks. Really, legalize it all, study the effects, and provide athletes with meaningful information about risks and rewards based on actual data. -
Good for him? Ahh, yes, Benjamin Sinclair Johnson, the greatest sprinter who ever lived, dude would have gone 9.58 in 1990 if we had let him, and not just singled him out and targeted him for downfall. Great guy, he deserved to be allowed to go on competing. When will people learn, ALL the top sprinters are using.

I actually don't think Carl Lewis started using steroids until after Ben Johnson blew him away in 1988. Two things came together in the late 1980s - full professionalization of T&F and Johnson and FloJo demonstrating just how much of a difference steroids could make for top-tier sprinters. By 1991 worlds, I think all the major sprinters were using, and I think since then elite sprinters who don't use PEDs in a serious way are the exception.
