USATF does not meet the standard.

USATF is really going to make what happened last year when only 9 guys ran the 5k and they went through the 2 mile at 10:22... That was just A) sad for distance running B) sad that had to be seen on TV C) sad so many other sub-elites weren't able to get experience and opportunity on the big stage and D) just freaking sad on USATF's part! As I recall there was a 28:3x guy who ran that time at the Portland Track Festival got the 10k B standard and he ran at Nationals, so how come a 28:50 would've made it in the 10k, but it took a 13:30 A standard to make it in the 5k? That didn't make any sense... Why not just make a standard time, and if (for example last year) only 9 people make the time, just take the next best 16 people and make it a 25 people field? That's a regular sized 5k, reasonable, and you still would've had the 25th guy at like low 13:4x's... What next? Should we only take 8 sprinters and made it a straight final? See, USATF has no transparency, and they need to get their crap together!
