Great answers from Steve. And they're not sloppy and full of grammatical errors (like his old blog (and his book as I've heard)) but really to the point.

This was the first thread about AMA, idiot.
This is the kind of Q&A that LR should be doing.
No, at least two previous threads like this have been deleted this evening.
The most amazing thing about that AMA is that Steve Magness is still training or doing 'pacing'. He said he ran 24:10 for a 5 mile tempo and this past fall paced Ritz on a 11 miler @ 5:01 pace.
what is AMA? A Motor Association? Seriously, never heard that acronym before.
Ask Me Anything - it is a Reddit thing.

BS. They were deleted because they were started after this one. When the moron above said this thread would be deleted it had already been up for two hours.
Idiots should scan the board before they start new threads.
...yawn

You seem like a pleasant person.

And both of those threads, despite being up for, in your words, less than "two hours", had more replies than this one.
"We all have our varying lines of morality in every aspect of life. You have certain religious groups who won't take any artificial medicine for example. In the world of sport, it's similar, everyone has different lines of which to cross or not cross. We all know the hard line in the sand drawn by WADA and USADA, but how close to that line is a question each individual athlete and coach has to think about. I know exactly where my personal line is drawn and I preach that with my athletes.
That being said, just want to put out point blank that if there were PEDS, I wouldn't be a part of it."
Steve Magness response on Salazar "grey area." Sounds like they are taking something but it's very close to being illegal (but not yet).
Someone asked him after that to specify if he saw no illegal PED use with the Sal camp. He did not answer.
I think that response leaves him open to the possibility. He could have discovered it, then left. So, he is truthful in saying he would not be a part of any PED program.
I think as far as the "Did Magness leave for NOP for a PED-related reason" debate the answer is in this AMA. You have to read between the lines but combined with the non-answer about NOP PED use and the following answer to DT's question below, the NOPers were crossing his personal "line in the sand" for PEDs. Interesting stuff...
David Torrence:
With more people "toeing the line", do you think "the hard line in the sand" that WADA draws should be adjusted? Or do you think it is, in general, fair?
Steve Magness:
"...As you know, it's such a tough question. Personally my line is far away from WADA's. I'm not a fan of pushing the boundaries.
I think you are venturing into the "intention to cheat" even if you aren't technically cheating.
As far as the technical line goes, I think it has to be continually adjusted. For instance, this latest info on XENON gas. If your wada, i think you now have to include that in banned substances. I think there are a few other subtances or techniques that are currently "gray area" that need to be considered...."
